Thursday: School
Nov. 30th, 2017 12:19 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and our look at daily lives continues! Today's theme is SCHOOL! Prompts today can be anything and everything related to school. Any kind of school!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, Any, teaching survival skills to the scientists
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, participating in a bake sale for Grace's school
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Any, College AU
+ Any, Any, taking their dog to obedience school
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

“Shut it, Tyler!”
“Professor Hunt!”
“Yes, Miss Cartwright, what has got your wizarding knickers in a twist this time?”
“I think Skelton is having problems.”
“Skelton always has problems. And Carling, I assume that horrible smell is you? Yes, Miss Cartwright, I agree Skelton does have problems. Someone catch that frog before it hops out of the room.”

“Right, I’m off to the Hog’s Head. House points for whoever buys me a drink.”

Date: 2017-11-30 08:20 pm (UTC)SPN, Dean - Not so stupid
Date: 2017-11-30 11:17 pm (UTC)Little did anyone know, his dad and Sam included that he wasn't stupid, lazy or incapable of doing the work. He just didn't see the point to it all. Why bother when they were just going to pick up and leave again? The one time he'd come home with an A written in red ink on his math test, John had asked if he'd written it himself or possibly had 'help' with his test. And by help he knew it was implied that he'd cheated. Thanks dad for the encouragement and words of praise. That was around the time he just stopped caring about sharing his grades with his family.
So, yeah here he was in the library. Sitting in the very back of the stacks, books open taking notes on the latest assignments that were due by Friday. He looked down at his notebook and smiled. Neat handwriting written across the page in front of him. No, it wasn't someone's 'borrowed' notes. They were his, in his own handwriting. Bet they'd be shocked to find that he took notes. Meticulous notes on all his subjects. His English teacher, Mr. Diaz had been when he'd collected everyone's notebooks to grade on note taking. Who knew that could be graded? Every page was checked off and the grade given was an A. He looked at that grade one last time before shoving the notebook back In his backpack.
What he was really proud of were the two tests he'd just gotten back today. Science and World History. Yeah, he'd been spoken to after each class today. Neither teacher though him capable of the grade he'd gotten on them. Both were graded with an A+. He'd even gotten the obscure bonus question right on the World History test. No one else had so how the hell would he have managed to cheat on that question? And they called him stupid? He had to defend himself and the grades he earned. No, he hadn't cheated. No, one 'helped' him. He had studied. Shocker!
He looked up at the clock. Crap! It was past the time he'd meant to leave. He had to get Sam from his after school study group. He shoved the papers into his backpack along with his books pen and notebooks. He poked his head out to see if anyone he knew was around. He really didn't want to be recognized and have to explain why he was here. But, then again they'd just think he was screwing around instead of studying. Seeing that the coast was clear, he bolted for the door and down the steps to the sidewalk. He slung his backpack over his shoulder and walked the distance to Sam's middle school.
As he rounded the corner he saw Sam sitting on the steps waiting for him. "Hey Sammy. Lost track of time." He said with a smile.
"Yeah, what was her name?" Sam asked figuring Dean had been wth some girl. Not waiting for an answer Sam continued. "Hey, did you do okay on your tests?" Sam watched as Dean shrugged not giving him a real answer. "You know, if you cracked a book once and a while, you might get a descent grade. You might want to consider it." Sam said, smiling and trying to be helpful, not meaning to hurt Dean's feelings in the process. Dean just continued to smile.
Dean looked at him and chuckled. "Yeah, I'll think about it. Come on let's go home." He said as he slung an arm over Sam's shoulders and they walked back too the place they were staying at.
