Friday: Lost & Found
Mar. 9th, 2018 12:01 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’ve been looking at both sides of the coin. Thank you so much to everyone who participated this week with fills and prompts! Our final theme of the week is LOST & FOUND. Sometimes a character wants to get lost. And sometimes two characters can find shared emotions they didn’t realize were there. Any interpretation of either is good!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, if they’re going to be stranded at least it’s someplace nice
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Any, not all who wander are lost
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, finding something unexpected tucked into a dresser drawer
+ Any, Any nemesis pair, “Took you long enough to find me.”
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-03-09 08:57 pm (UTC)“That hardly makes up for being stuck here, with no way to get back,” Sheppard replied moodily. He stepped outside the well-appointed beach hut they’d spent the night in. He could have admitted the beds were very comfortable, but he wasn’t going to give McKay the satisfaction of hearing him say so.
“The sand is warm and the sea is blue,” McKay continued. “If that’s not enough, will this do?” He pulled Shepherd into a kiss.
“Maybe!”

Date: 2018-03-09 05:02 am (UTC)Hawaii Five-0 Steve/Danny Unexpected Find
Date: 2018-03-09 03:21 pm (UTC)But, here they both were, learning. Trial by fire! The first week or two had been rough, trying to learn each other's routines. Neither were pleasant without their first cup of coffee. That had caused a fight or two. One of them where Danny had actually walked out of the house, not returning for several hours. When he'd returned, they both vowed not to speak to each other until they had each taken at least a sip or two of their coffees.
Now, things were going a little smoother. It was still a learning process. Danny liked things a certain way, while Steve was more laid back. Steve would let the dishes sit for the day in the sink, "soaking" as he put it. Well, that would work if there was actually water in said sink. He also thought nothing of letting the clean laundry sit in the basket, unfolded, getting wrinkled. He'd go through it, find what he was looking for and then get dressed, wrinkles be damned!
That was why Danny was currently finishing folding the laundry that had piled up. With a sigh, he separated his clothes from Steve's and walked over to the closet to put away what needed to be hung up. He eyed the rest of the clothes. He shrugged at it and started to walk out of the room.
He stopped himself at the door. Shaking his head he turned around and headed back to the pile. He couldn't just leave it there. Steve would never put his shirts away. And, it would bother Danny and they'd end up in a fight over putting laundry away. Who needed that aggravation? Danny sighed out loud, it was just easier to put everything away and be done with it.
Taking the small pile of Steve's shirts, socks and underwear, he walked over to their shared dresser and pulled out a drawer and placed the shirts inside before closing it and opening the other drawer to put away the rest. The drawer was in shambles, items tossed around like a hurricane named Steve had blown through it. Putting down the pile, he went about pulling out the mess to right it.
His hand hit the back of the drawer, touched upon something that wasn't wood or clothing. He pulled it out. A small black velvet box. With shaking hands he opened the box to find two matching rings. Both clearly for men. He took a sharp intake of breath and stared at them. He didn't tear his eyes away until he heard Steve's voice calling to him from the living room.
He quickly snapped the box shut and shoved it back into the drawer along with Steve's underwear and socks. He didn't care at this point if things were in order before he slammed the drawer shut.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Steve asked as he stood in the doorway.
Danny took a moment to calm himself before he turned to face Steve. "Nothing, just putting the laundry away," he said before he tried to brush past Steve.
Steve reached out, caught Danny by the wrist and pulled him against himself before kissing him. "Thanks for taking care of me," Steve murmured before letting Danny go.
"Of course," Dan said over his shoulder as he left the bedroom.
Steve waited a moment before going to the dresser drawer and pulling it open. He saw the jumble of clothing, reached in and felt for the box. It was still hidden where he'd left it. He breathed a sigh of relief. Danny hadn't found the rings. He still had time to think of the perfect way to propose to Danny.

Teyla said, "My people have always referred to it as the City of the Ancestors."
John sighed. "For the last time, we can name it later. We have Wraith to kill."

Ziva had only had half a second to wonder if her people knew about the Stargate Program before she was swallowed in a beam of golden light and taken up onto a spaceship.
Abby was wide-eyed, clutching her giant purse, vacillating between Aliens are real! I told you so! and We’re on a spaceship!
McGee kept trying to ask questions about the science behind it all, but the spaceship was just like a battleship, and everyone onboard had duties they needed to attend to.
Gibbs wanted to get the case started right now, but it was an eighteen-day journey from Earth to their destination, so they had three weeks to do their best to understand the Stargate Program, its history and complex politics, and then absorb the details of the case.
Given that the NID, the SGC’s usual investigative branch, was under suspicion yet again, Ziva wasn’t surprised that they’d turned to one of the military investigative branches. Why NCIS and not AFOSI was probably a matter of politics, and also the SGC had a lot of Marines involved, so NCIS was a logical choice.
Gibbs’s team was the best, and they’d just been reunited, so that made sense as well, although Gibbs still hadn’t found a replacement for Tony, and rather than bring along the newest candidate, they’d just left the poor child behind, doing paperwork at Tony’s old desk.
And then McGee said, “They made you a redshirt!”
Tony said, “Actually, red is for civilian personnel. I don’t go offworld without at least one team of Marines. It’s very flattering, how much they care about my safety.”
Ziva turned, and there was Tony DiNozzo in a frankly unflattering gray-and-red uniform.
“Tony!” Abby leaped at him and threw her arms around him, punching him in the ribs with her giant bag while she was at it.
“That’s right. I’m the Agent Afloat for Atlantis.”
“But - you’ve been emailing us,” McGee said. “Pictures. From -”
“Borrowed from other Marines who were once stationed on the battleship I was supposed to be on.” Tony shrugged. “Sorry. You didn’t have clearance.”
“I missed you so much!” Abby pressed a kiss to his cheek, left a bright red lip print, then stepped back so McGee could hug Tony as well.
Ziva glanced at Gibbs, but of course his expression was unreadable.
Tony glanced at Gibbs, nodded. “Boss.”
“Not your boss anymore,” Gibbs said.
“Well, McGee is still Probie.” Tony patted McGee on the back, let him go. He turned to a man standing nearby, who wore a similar uniform only with black patches instead of black. “Sergeant, would you be so kind as to escort Agents Gibbs and McGee to their rack? I’ll handle Officer David and Ms. Sciuto.”
The man nodded. “If you’ll follow me, Agents.”
Gibbs shook his head. “I want to get started. Take our bags our racks. We’ll find them later.”
The sergeant glanced at Tony.
Tony nodded. “All right. Abby, give your bag to Sergeant Reed. You too, Ziva. Let’s go.” He turned and headed for an elevator.
Ziva followed. Everyone, she noticed, had a radio earpiece, including Tony. He selected a deck and then sighed.
“Bored?” Ziva asked.
“Ah, just - the transporters on Atlantis are so much faster than elevators,” Tony said. “I’m used to not having to wait quite so long.”
“Transporters?” McGee asked.
“Too much science for me,” Tony said. “Maybe McKay will let you and Abby have at a broken one in your theoretical down time.” To Ziva he said, “You can have fun throwing down with Teyla and Ronon. Finally, a real challenge.”
This was not the Tony she remembered, least of all because of the uniform that really wasn’t very flattering on him. Finally she said,
“You are - paler.”
“Atlantis is an indoor city,” he said. “I don’t go offworld very often.”
Offworld. He said it so casually. Going to other planets was just offworld for him.

Date: 2018-03-09 05:30 pm (UTC)Fill - Chris/Vin + Ensemble - The Magnificent Seven 1/2
Date: 2018-03-29 07:26 pm (UTC)Chris pulled along slug from his bottle as bodies moved around him. Five chairs were pulled out; five men sat down around him. One kicked the chair out from across him and sat it in backwards, his arms draping over the top of it. Not one of them spoke a word until the man in black finally commented.
“Vin,” he nodded to the Texan and took another slug of whiskey. Buck reached out for the whiskey, but Chris kept a firm hold on his bottle and blatantly ignored his old friend. “What’re you doin’?” he slurred, still looking at Vin though the other five men knew the question, in a way, was also meant for them.
“I lost you once,” Vin commented in his casual, easy way. “Can’t afford to lose you again.” It was the truth for in losing Chris, he always came so close to losing himself. They all did.
They had become a family over the years they’d been fighting together to protect Four Corners, If one of them hurt, so, too, did the others, and although some of them often took off on their own, as Chris had yet again, the others always eventually followed. Larabee should’ve known they were coming. He would have if he’d been thinking straight, but if his mind had been clear, he wouldn’t have tried leaving them behind in the first place, not again, not after everything they’d been through together and all the times they had all proven themselves to him.
They weren’t going anywhere, no matter what he did or threatened. They would be with him to the end, especially Vin. He hadn’t found a home in years after his Indian family had been destroyed, but he had found a home finally with this man. He’d found more than a home. He’d found his destiny, and he wasn’t about to abandon him, no matter the risks.
His long arms draped casually over the chair’s back, Vin leaned closer. He smiled at Chris. Chris looked like he might spit in his face, and he’d given nicer looks to guys right before he’d shot them. Vin shrugged. “So I’m not gonna. Wherever you’re going, pard, whatever you’ve got in mind to do, I’m comin’.”
“And he ain’t alone,” Buck added.
Chris didn’t look at any of the others. His slanting, green eyes, which looked almost feral with his anger and the dim light of the saloon, bored into Vin. “Gonna be Hell,” he remarked simply.
Josiah’s bark of laughter finally startled Chris enough that he looked up at the others. “Damn,” he muttered. “You wan’t all s’posed to come.”
“You should’ve known we would,” Vin whispered.
Josiah shrugged his muscular shoulders beneath his serape. “We’ve been through Hell many times before, brother, and always come out to tell the tale in the end.”
“Now are you gonna fill us in or are we just gonna keep following you?” Nathan asked.
Chris lifted his bottle again and threw the rest of his whiskey back down his throat. Buck signaled the waitress to bring some more. It was going to be a long night, and they were going to need all the “fire drink” they could get. “Shit,” Chris grunted. “Not like you’re giving me much choice.”
Vin’s sky blue eyes seemed to twinkle in the decreasing light. “Nope,” he drawled in agreement.
“Fine. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Date: 2018-03-10 07:57 pm (UTC)Teen Wolf – Sterek – "I didn't lose that. I left it at your place."
One minute, Stiles and Derek are screaming at each other about witches, spells and virgins, the next, the room is deathly quiet. And from the way the rest of the pack are open-mouthed and horrified, Stiles figures he must have said something he shouldn’t have.
He thinks back.
And immediately winces.
Maybe coming back at Derek’s snide comment about being unable to perform the spell because he lost his virginity, with, “I didn’t lose it! I left in your bed!” was hardly subtle. But Derek wasn’t helping either.
“Technically, it was the couch.”
And it’s so not the point.
