Date: 2018-03-25 12:15 am (UTC)The house is clean because Tiggy is clever. As a sprog she learned to root out an infestation methodically, comprehensively. It had to be done or there would be a resurgence, so Tiggy broke the necks of all the doxies and each wrenching snap drove home the lesson.
So while other house elves only scrub the surface, Tiggy cleans deep. Tiggy watches and remembers. Tiggy finds the root of the problem.
Tiggy begins with her Mistress' beloved pets. The niffler is the cause of the smudged silver and misplaced jewelry. The Krup is the source of the torn up lawn.
Her Mistress cries and cries when they disappear, but she has commanded Tiggy to keep the house clean. Surely she will love them even more when they are perfectly behaved, and Tiggy won't keep them away for very long.
Tiggy pours endless mugs of tea for her Mistress during the day, amd stays up into the deep hours of the night stitching small and neat lines. She replaces their eyes with the most lifelike buttons she can find, and charms their fur so it is plush and soft forever.
In the morning Tiggy puts them at the foot of her Mistress' bed. She screams with joy when she discovers them and cries more tears while she cuddles them as fiercely as she ever has.
Tiggy smiles indulgently and pours more mugs of tea. Tiggy is such a good elf.

Of all the questions, Bruce wasn't expecting that one. Nor was he even conversant on what it actually meant. It was a Tony thing and Tony things that didn't always mean anything to Bruce (unless Science was involved). "I guess...we could find out?" Bruce hazarded the question, adding a slight shrug.
"Excellent idea. We shall make it a quest!" Thor wrapped an arm around Bruce's shoulders.
'Quest'. That sounded like they'd be spending a lot of time together. Surprisingly, Bruce liked the idea. He slid his arm around Thor's waist. "Quest, sure."
