Tuesday's pinch hit: Domesticity
Apr. 3rd, 2018 11:17 amSo sorry there was no entry posted yesterday. I'm on spring break this week and didn't check in to make sure entries have been posted. I took for granted that we run pretty smoothly without me having to check in.
That being said, while I wait to hear back from the scheduled host, here's a pinch hit with a theme of Domesticity. All prompts should be domestic related.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, it's their day off but instead of relaxing, they're catching up on neglected household chores
+ Teen Wolf, Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Stiles comes home after a long day at the station and is surprised to see Derek preparing a homecooked meal
+ Any, any/any, decorating their first child's nursery
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-04-03 06:24 pm (UTC)Fill : Criminal Minds Garcia/Alvez
Date: 2018-04-04 07:36 pm (UTC)It’s the smell that wakes her.
Already beginning to stir, Garcia breathes in deeply and it hits her straight away, followed closely by the realisation that she’s alone in bed. She’s not a profiler, not a special agent, but two and two still makes four and she’s instantly awake, standing and slipping into her robe, tying it loosely before padding towards her kitchen.
The smell of pancakes cooking gets more delicious the closer she gets, but it’s the sight that greets her that really makes her lick her lips.
Luke’s managed to find his jeans but not his shirt and the muscles of his back move as he shifts the pan over the heat. Garcia has a memory flash of tracing those same muscles with her hands and lips the previous night and she finds herself wondering if it would be possible to institute a rule that Luke has to walk around shirtless all the time. Well, when they’re off the clock anyway - otherwise, she’d never get any work done.
“Good morning.”
She’s disturbed from her thoughts - ok, her ogling - by his voice and he doesn’t turn around but she can hear him smiling. Smugly. For once she doesn’t mind it.
“You cook too?” she asks, keeping her voice light and his shoulders ripple with a silent chuckle.
“I have many talents,” he says, sounding extremely satisfied with himself, and Garcia bites her lip to keep back her first response to that.
And her second.
And definitely her third.
She steps up beside him, rests her palm high on his back in between his shoulder blades, enjoys the heat of his skin as she slides her hand down and around his waist. Pressing a kiss to his shoulder she leans her cheek against his arm. “Keep this up and I may never let you leave,” she says.
She freezes immediately because what if that sounded too pathetic and needy and obsessive for their first morning together?
But then Luke chuckles again, audibly this time, and with it he turns his head and kisses her cheek. “Sounds good to me,” is all he says and Garcia grins, knowing she could get used to this.
Knowing she’s going to.

Date: 2018-08-09 03:14 pm (UTC)He expected Derek to already be in bed when he got home since Derek was usually in bed by ten at the latest. But surprisingly, the lights were still on in the house when he drove up, and he could hear sounds coming from the kitchen when he stepped inside.
“Babe, you up?” Stiles called as he stripped out of his coat and boots.
“In the kitchen,” Derek called back. “Wash up and you can eat.”
Wondering if Derek had just ordered something in, Stiles stepped into the kitchen and stopped short. There wasn’t a pizza or a take out box of lo mein on the table, there was an honest to god meal there. Roasted chicken and vegetables, all obviously cooked for him by Derek.
“I had Michael tell me when you left the station,” Derek said, a self conscious flush settling in his cheeks. He stirred a pot on the stove one last time and put it on the table with the rest. “So it’d be ready when you got here.”
Stiles smiled, still exhausted, but so happy he could burst. Derek had done this just for him, because he always knew exactly what Stiles needed. "I love you."

FILL: Teen Wolf, Stiles/Derek
Date: 2018-08-09 06:48 pm (UTC)The helpful arrows guided him to the correct section and there was an abundance of styles and colors for him to choose from. The problem came once he had made his selection; where in the world did his hyperactive spaz boyfriend run off too? Being a wolf had its perks, and the arrows on the floors pointing the way helped as he attempted to sniff out his lost boyfriend.
Easy! Yeah, no, not so much; this way and that, he followed a trail through sinister semi-houses with Mondrianesque curtains, around massive bins that held kiddie stuffed animals and brightly colored sheets, passing the collection of pictures of smiling families who don’t have to endure the elbow to elbow touch from the lack of personal space from the person walking next to him.
Even when he cut though what he thought was a short cut, he was closed off by crowds blocking his way and forcing him to back track. Once on the arrow road, he tried to go back, having sniffed out Stiles scent, only to be ushered, almost against his will, forward and onward towards the end of the line. He soon found himself hopelessly lost in an Ikea store, with Stiles scent all around him, and yet no boyfriend to be seen, torment by the home furnishing chain’s mazy layouts that felt like a psychological weapon of mass destruction on his patience.
Refusing to give up hope, and still holding onto Stiles scent, Derek zig-zag a trail between displays of minimalist Swedish furniture, other disorientated Ikea customer, until he found, freaking finally, his boyfriend. “Stiles!”
Flailing, standing at the edge of the checkout department, Stiles gave a heavy sigh of relief. He had been lost, all this time, looking for Derek and unable to find him. Like a child, knowing what to do when he was lost, he had gone to the adults and was just about to ask them to page Derek hale to the counter. Thankfully, he was saved the embarrassment. Rushing to his mate, Stiles hugged Derek, holding onto him tightly.
“Never again! We are never coming back.” Derek declared, happy to have found his mate but never wishing to be lost upon the crowds and tiny home.
Stiles hugged his boyfriend tightly, agreeing, “We are never coming back, no matter how many picture frames you need or how hungry I am. Never again, Ikea.”

Date: 2018-04-04 12:58 am (UTC)"That's a gorgeous dog," a woman said.
Surprised, Niles nearly fell over his feet. Eddie darted sideways to stay out of his way. "Oh!"
"Are you all right?" The woman reached out and Niles started to say he was fine but the woman scooped Eddie up in her arms. "Such a good boy, dealing with such a clumsy man."
Niles scowled as Eddie stared at him over the woman's shoulder. He knew he was anthromorphizing, but that dog seemed to be smiling at him.
"You just wait," he muttered. "See if I ever take you for another walk."
