Dydd Mawrth: The Written Word
Apr. 10th, 2018 05:00 amGood morrow! Welcome to Tuesday's prompt. I’m
evil_little_dog and today's theme is "The Written Word". Prompts can be for any novel (or book series) fandom!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ The Raven Cycle (Stiefvater), Blue Sargent + the Dog, Professor Malory leaves Blue the Dog when he passes
+ The Last Unicorn, the animals gather to talk about the stories the rabbits write about mankind
+ The Last Unicorn, Molly Grue tells stories to the young children in the villages she and Schmendrick visit
+ Good Omens, Adam Young and the Them, They grow up to be a rock band
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-04-12 01:56 am (UTC)Chris and Beth were together the longest, but when Mark joined them--they still laugh that the original two week visit is going on two years--it hadn’t disrupted things at all.
Chris and Mark initially got together after baby Stella was born, because Beth had enough going on; she wasn’t interested in sex at the moment. “If you want to give each other a helping hand, that’s fine with me,” she told him. It had been more than just hands, but Beth genuinely wasn’t worried about it.
Then Chris was asked to conduct a six-month medical research project on the International Space Station. He gave Mark and Beth his blessing to relieve any sexual tensions they might have in his absence. Which was ridiculous, since they were fucking whenever Chris’s schedule didn’t allow time for his wife.
After The World’s Longest House Call, as they refer to it, there comes the fateful night when Chris gets home at a quasi-reasonable hour and walks into the bedroom to find the other two members of the household in bed, Beth’s legs wrapped around Mark, who doesn’t even glance up at the interruption.
For a moment, Chris stands watching, enjoying the scene. He knows from firsthand experience how it feels to be squeezed like that by Beth’s thighs, how warm and wet she is. And when Mark groans that way, he’s tightening up--yeah, he’s got to get some of that.
Chris sheds his clothes and grabs the lube out of the bedside table drawer.
“I don’t know what you’re doing,” Beth says to him as he’s making sure Mark’s hole is slick and ready, “but don’t stop--he likes it.”
It’s exciting, using another man’s dick to fuck his wife, and both of them are making noises he associates with their enjoyment. Beth’s breathy moans get louder, and Chris is pretty sure she’s climaxed at least once. Mark gasps and squeaks, his voice higher than usual and so incredibly tight--! And why not? He’s got the best of both worlds, and one of these days, Chris is going to have to try that himself.
When they’re through, the king-size bed holds them all, with Beth in the middle, and her men on either side. There’s no conversation; everyone’s relaxed and sleepy.
There’s nothing like the morning after to make a man second guess himself. Chris is the first one awake. He heads into the kitchen and fixes coffee, all the while wondering if he did the right thing last night. Would Beth be upset that he’d joined her and Mark? Had he been too rough with Mark? Although neither of them had seemed to mind at the time….
“Good morning, my little darling,” Beth croons, her voice wafting from the baby monitor. “My goodness, somebody has made a mess! Yes, you have….” She sounds unconcerned about anything but getting their daughter changed.
Mark slouches into the kitchen. “Coffee?” he begs, taking the mug Chris offers and spooning sugar into it. ”Ahh…I can feel brain cells coming back online!” He hugs Chris with the hand that isn’t holding the mug.
Chris kisses him on the mouth, tasting sweetness and coffee. “Are you okay? I wasn’t too rough?”
Mark just grins.
“Okay, then,” Chris says. “Next time, I want to be the meat in the sandwich.”
“Oh yeah?” Beth enters the kitchen, followed by Stella and Rover. “Because I was thinking I’d like to give that a try.”
“Coin toss,” Mark suggests, as Chris pours another cup of coffee.
Beth bestows kisses on them both, then elbows Chris in the ribs. “Ladies first.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he agrees. It doesn’t really matter who goes first. They were a team long before sex was part of the relationship. Sooner or later they’ll all get their turn.

Date: 2018-04-10 12:29 pm (UTC)Fill -- Manor House Events
Date: 2018-04-12 12:19 am (UTC)Otherwise, she adored college. It was fun helping organize parties and events…over the course of four years, she’d gone from assisting to directing, and loved it. Holiday galas? Charity fundraisers? Annual end-of-the-term rummage sale? Everyone on campus knew Madeline Wheeler was the go-to-gal to pull it off. By her senior year, classmates were begging her to organize their weddings from engagement parties to wedding after-parties. For the next few years, she liased with wedding planners and banquet managers, realizing how many tricks of their trade she already knew.
After college, her dad gave her a generous allowance, above and beyond her trust funds and investment income--she didn’t need to earn a living.
When Matthew Wheeler mentioned selling the Manor House and retiring in Florida, Madeline’s plan hatched. “Sell it to me, Daddy,” she begged. “It’s close to New York City, and I can get brides who want a quiet, elegant place for their special day. Please, Daddy?”
Laura Wheeler looked less surprised than her husband--although not terribly happy. “It’s one thing to plan an event, my dear. Managing the property where it’s held is a great deal more complicated.”
“I have a good idea of what’s involved,” her daughter said with determination. “Miss Trask and I have talked about things like upkeep, and how to get estimates from contractors--I know I can do it!”
“Miss Trask wants to retire,” Mr. Wheeler announced, sighing. “She’s been with us for fifteen years. That’s another reason I’ve been thinking about putting the Manor House on the market. We were incredibly fortune to have her.”
“That was thanks to me. She was my math teacher, then you hired her as my governess, then she took over running things when we moved here. I’ve had the benefit of her example, and I’m sure she won’t mind me calling her for advice once in a while.”
“It isn’t like I need a share of this place,” her brother, Jim chimed in. “I have my own plans.”
With some misgivings, the elder Wheelers signed the property over to her and departed for the Sunshine State. Now, three years later, Manor House Events is hosting everything from weddings to mystery dinner parties, and Madeline is having the time of her life.
Funny how people’s goals can change over time, she muses, thinking about the Bob-Whites’s diaspora. Jim’s hasn’t. Brian Belden’s hasn’t--he completes his medical residency next year. Diana Lynch is Madeline’s own assistant and Mart Belden is the groundskeeper for the Manor House.
The little kitchen garden his mom kept hadn’t prepared Mart for agri-business. He’d dropped out of school, taking a job at a nursery, where he talked shop with landscapers, occasionally moonlighting on outside projects. When Madeline announced her plan to start Manor House Events, he’d started talking animatedly--he thought the property was criminally under-developed--which was typical Mart--she’d decided to give him the job fifteen minutes before he finally stopped talking.
Madeline chuckles. Aside from his occasional bickering with Diana, she’s never regretted hiring Mart. He’s added plantings that make wonderful backgrounds for photo ops--a gazebo, the hedge maze, topiaries, a pagoda with a rock garden and bonsai, and of course, the rose garden…. He also uses the kitchen garden on the Belden property to grow organic vegetables for Manor House functions.
If only she saw more of Trixie! Her only regret is that her oldest and dearest friend (the only one allowed to call her “Honey”, because she can’t say “Madeline” with a straight face) is hardly ever in town. It’s not surprising--Trixie is a top-level event rider with Olympic prospects--but sometimes Honey feels wistful for the old days, and their plans for the Belden-Wheeler Detective Agency.

Date: 2018-04-12 07:01 am (UTC)I'm so glad you enjoyed my little epilogue! <3!
+ At the time, I thought old Mr. Frayne died of some exotic disease--I'd never seen "pneumonia" spelled out before, and my mental pronunciation was wildly incorrect.

Date: 2018-04-13 08:40 am (UTC)I have the first few Trixies, although all different editions. I *had* the complete set before I moved, but that's among the things that disappeared along the way. :(

Re: Fill -- Manor House Events
Date: 2018-04-14 08:34 am (UTC)I've contributed to the Three Investigators fandom somewhat--I have a 'verse in which Jupiter Jones is all grown up and enjoying domestic bliss with Spencer Reid of Criminal Minds. It's mostly curtain fic, not long on plot, but neither is the smut--there's a bit of that as well.

Date: 2018-04-10 11:36 pm (UTC)My half-brother, of course did not look tired. He never looks tired. He looked like he stepped off the cover of the type of novel Bob the skull likes to read. The only thing missing was the puffy-sleeve shirt and the swooning woman.
"Now you look irritated," Thomas said. Almost helpfully. "And with those dark circles, you look like an irritated panda."
"You're making me more exhausted every time you open your mouth." My glare bounced off him. Thomas even smiled. I considered a spell but that took too much effort. I just wanted to curl up in a ball and sleep. "Is this important?" I asked around a yawn.
"Well," Thomas shifted his shoulders and shuffled his feet and on anyone else, it'd be a tic, but I knew him.
Promising myself a long nap later, I dragged myself into an upright position. "Tell me about on the way there. You're driving."

Date: 2018-04-10 07:56 pm (UTC)Hagrid + Dumbledore Fill
Date: 2018-04-11 06:53 pm (UTC)He heard the excited bellow just as he was beginning to move away and stopped cold. A long, weary sigh slowly escaped him; he shook his head. He should have known better, but he knew his student’s heart was set on any animal who could be both dangerous and even the smallest bit cute. Dragons excited the boy most of all.
He turned slowly back around and watched Rubeus simultaneously playing with two of the fire breathers. They were still small enough that his huge hands could hold one each while never endangering the creatures. They had lost their mother, and Rubeus had lost . . . Albus sighed again, his countenance drooping. Rubeus had lost far, far too much. If the dragons could bring the boy any joy at all, it was worth all the whispers that would be tearing apart his own reputation in the coming weeks.
“Rubeus, we must be careful -- “ he started, moving closer to the Giant and the baby dragons who were squealing with glee as Rubeus bounced them up and down in his massive hands.
Rubeus stopped playing instantly and almost hid the dragons behind his back. It was clear to Dumbledore that he stopped that intention only when he remembered that his Professor already knew about the creatures. He turned them to face him instead, his own head lowered and blushing. The dragons looked as cute as they could as they cooed up at Albus Dumbledore.
“Of course, Sir,” Rubeus spoke obediently, but then stole a quick look back up at his favorite Professor.
“You know what will happen if the Ministry finds out -- “
“Of course, Sir. We won’t let that happen, Sir.”
“See that you don’t, Rubeus,” Albus commanded, starting to turn away. He stopped and stole one last look back at them quickly enough that he caught the huge grins on all three of their faces before they could vanish them. “But enjoy each other, Rubeus.”
“Yes, sir, Professor Dumbledore, sir.”
Albus sighed again and moved away, his own memories trying to cling to him and haunt him. He’d heard recently that there was a way to remove one’s memories and store them for later use; he needed to look into that. He’d made so many mistakes over the years and lost so many loved ones; a way to store them away would surely help.
At the top of the hill, he paused again as he heard the Giant boy’s deep, guffawing laughter. It echoed over the forest and rumbled through the ground beneath his feet. Albus’ whiskers twitched as he allowed himself a smile. At least he seemed to have done one thing right, even if it might not last. He’d brought happiness to three children, and that made him feel warm at last. Maybe the Winter wouldn’t be so harsh on them after all. It surely wouldn’t be on the three orphans for they’d have each other to keep them warm and happy. Albus smiled and left Hagrid to the dragons.
The End
