Thursday: Opinions
Jun. 7th, 2018 07:30 amHello everybody! I am still
sherlockian_syn and today's theme is Opinions. Is there a character aching to share their opinion? To dispute someone else's opinion? Letting their opinion cloud their judgement? If it has anything to do with somebody's opinion of something, drop that prompt!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark/Stephen Strange, an argument over whether pineapple belongs on pizza
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay +/ Ronon Dex, Ronon listens to John explain why football is better than hockey, and Rodney counters to try and convince Ronon otherwise
+ BBC Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes +/ John Watson, Sherlock and John debate which takeaway place is better only to end up ordering from both to prove each other wrong
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-06-07 08:30 pm (UTC)"Says the man who just ordered a pizza with tomato sauce."
"Tomato being a fruit is only a technicality. No one eats it like it's a fruit. You wouldn't put tomatoes in a fruit salad, now would you?"
Tony stared at Stephen. "You've actually been paying attention to Peter's D&D tales, haven't you?"
Stephen blinked, caught off guard. "What? No. Why would I do that?"
"Because you like the kid."
"Not as much as you do, Daddy Warbucks."
Peter, still with his cellphone in hand, looked back and forth between the two men. "So, Mr. Stark, is that a yes or a no on the Hawaiian pizza?"
Tony took a deep breath. "Make the pizza half Hawaiian, half cheese."
Stephen looked unbearably smug.
The girl taking their order said, "So, one IronStrange special. Anything else?"
"Anything else, Mr. Stark?" Peter asked, his eyes wide and his expression puppy-pleading.
It took a moment for Tony to figure out what the kid was getting at.
"And one large Kitchen Sink for the kid. With everything on it," he said.
"But no pineapple," Peter said hastily.
Stephen looked even more smug.
"Obviously he's yours, not mine," Tony said to Stephen, whose smirk faded a notch. "Yours - and the milk man's."
"So one large IronStrange pie and one Kitchen Sink pie," the girl said, snapping her gum loudly into the phone. "Anything else?"
"Caffeine," Tony said fervently. "Lots and lots of caffeine."
"And a two-liter of Coke Zero," the girl said. She rattled off a price.
Tony rattled off his credit card number without a blink.
"That'll be along in fifteen to twenty minutes," the girl said, and the call ended.
"You're lucky you're so good in bed," Tony said.
"Not in front of the children, dear." Stephen arched an eyebrow in Peter's direction.
Peter swallowed hard, pocketed his phone, and slid toward the door. "I'll just - go downstairs and wait for the pizza, Mr. Stark. I'll be back in...fourteen minutes?"
Tony stared at him, unimpressed.
"Nineteen minutes," Peter amended, and ducked out the door.
"Now," Tony said, reeling Stephen in, "we have nineteen minutes to ourselves."

Date: 2018-09-25 04:21 am (UTC)"So, let's see if I have this straight," Ronon said. "These are contact sports."
"Yes," they both answered.
"And the players... wear padding. To protect themselves."
"Yes," they both said, a little more hesitantly.
Ronon paused. Then he said, simply, "Nah," and got up and walked out of the room.
Rodney and John looked at each other.
"He clearly doesn't understand," John said.
"Agreed," Rodney said. "I should have used a scatter plot."
"Yes. That would have made all the difference."
"I knew it."

This can’t just be a bromance, who would write a show about that?
I think the subtext in the second season’s pretty clear,
Don’t tell me I need to calm down—
I don’t care, I ship it.

Date: 2020-05-25 07:53 pm (UTC)Husband. Jared’s still in awe and he can’t believe they are finally married; he has to twirl the gold ring on his finger to remind himself that this isn’t a dream. He just married the love of his life in a world that finally accepts love of all genders. It’s like a dream come true and Jared’s heart feels like it’s about to burst with love.
He dashes over to Jensen, bubbling with joy and happiness, and sweeps Jensen into his loving arms and spins him around. Jensen giggles, laughing warmly, his head thrown back and his body shaking with shivers of delight as he clings to Jared’s shoulders. Round and round the lover’s twirls, laughing and smiling as the snow falls down upon them like angel kisses. When Jared sets Jensen down on his feet, Jensen rises to his tippy toes and kisses him.
Jared cups his husbands rosy freckle cheeks tenderly with his warm hands, his lips angelically soft and beautiful on his lover’s lips. Jensen wraps his arms around Jared’s neck and presses his body closer, and under the starry twinkling stars and the chilly snowflakes, he embraces the love of his life, wishing to stay in this moment of love and happiness for the rest of his life.
There is no doubt that life has its crazy moments. With the conventions in full force, life is all about speedy moments—they are up at the crack of dawn, hurry, hurry through breakfast to make it to the photo ops, and then chow down on a quick lunch before the panel. Hours of autographs followed by a speedy goodbye to the fans and then they hop back on a plan and race off to Texas where they crash after a long, exhausting day.
With the speed of life at their door step, the time is now slower, tender moments they savor the most. They have time to calm their racing hearts, to take a chance to breath deep and enjoy a peaceful moment.
♥ END ♥

Date: 2018-06-07 07:49 pm (UTC)Fill - King Arthur (2004) Arthur/Lancelot
Date: 2018-06-07 10:02 pm (UTC)"Yes," Arthur shot back. He crossed his arms and stared out of the long, slender windows that dotted his quarters, his black tunic as old as he was. Or so Lancelot sourly thought.
"No, Arthur. I don't care what you think. I don't care about your life here, I don't care how long you've been fighting in Britain, I don't care about Rome, and I certainly don't care about snow," he snarled the last word. The other man was clearly insane if he thought the wet, white stuff that fell to the ground and coated their garrison until you could only slog through it, clothing instantly soaked, chilled to the bone, was lovely. He shivered at the thought, and pulled Arthur's furs higher around his chest.
"It's better than rain," Arthur cocked his head, turning it to look at the man tucked up in his bed. He took his turn to shudder. He hated rain.
"But," he admitted, a tiny smile forcing the lines around his eyes to deepen, "if it gets you here..." he gestured at the bed. Lancelot rolled his eyes and then closed them.
"Fine," he snorted, snuggling almost all the way under the bed linens and furs. Damn Romans and their fancy trappings. "There is that."
Arthur crossed the room and shed the blanket he'd been holding over his shoulders, and Lancelot bit off a very un-soldierly shriek at the chill of Arthur's cold feet against his calves. Arthur slid next to him and stuck his nose into Lancelot's hair, and then his neck. His right arm slipped around Lancelot's waist, and he breathed in the other man's scent.
"You're still wrong, though."
Arthur smushed the edge of his furs over Lancelot's face and received a kick to the thigh for his efforts.
