Cam was lying beside Evan in the secret little space that was theirs, that Evan had carved out behind the logistics office in a storage space that the Air Force had forgotten. Over time Evan had stored up egg cartons to make the place soundproof. He’d used it originally as his private little art nook, but it had become their space, with a comfortable mattress, a mini-fridge, and an assortment of sex toys and aids that would make most Marines blush.

They were recovering from a slow, easy round of lovemaking. Usually when Evan topped he liked to do it slow, and Cam didn’t mind.

“I’m gonna say this more than once, but you’re kind of insane,” Cam said.

Evan hummed against Cam’s shoulder, a wordless questioning noise.

“In a good way,” Cam said, “because you’re hot.” He patted Evan’s bare ass affectionately. “But this is the logistics office. We’re in the Air Force.”

“My mother always encouraged me to be a rebel.”

“So you decided to become the best lay in Kandahar?”

“So I decided to join the Air Force,” Evan said.

Cam peered down at him, but Evan had his eyes closed, looked sleepy. “How is that being rebellious?”

“Grew up on a hippy commune. Clothing optional summers. Marijuana fields. Flowers in my hair. That was normal. Getting a haircut and putting on a uniform? Scandalous.” Evan opened one eye and looked at him. “Doing yoga so I could do kinky, flexible things in bed? Pretty much expected of me. Banging hot guys whenever I want? Also normal.”

Cam had grown up in a military family. His father and both grandfathers had served. He had various uncles and cousins who’d served. His brother was serving. Military service was normal for him. Expected. Violating regs was far more scandalous.

“DADT is stupid,” Evan said. “Frat regs I won’t mess with, because those make sense. But you and me - we’re kickass flyboys, and the fact that I like your dick doesn’t make either of us lousier pilots.”

“True,” Cam said.

“So, once we’ve recovered, we should fuck some more,” Evan said.

Cam nodded. “I can get behind that.”

“Mmmm. You want me on my hands and knees?”

Cam laughed and pulled Evan into a kiss. “I want you any way you’ll let me have you.”
