Πέμπτη: Bad Day
Jul. 11th, 2018 09:46 pmI'd say surprise, but we all knew this was going to be posted early. I’m
foxxygoddess and today's theme is Bad Day. Prompts can be having your own or seeing someone else's bad day. It could be as simple as a bad day for hair, clothes, or even talking to people.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Any, Any, a 'having to wear clothes you forgot you owned from the back of the closet' Bad Day
+ Marvel Universe, Any, "Trying out 'Hair Topiary' are we?" "Shut up."
+ Flash, Barry Allen +/ Any, "You look like you were chewed up, spit out, set on fire, and then ran over. Twice. What happened?" "Better question. What didn't happen to me today?"
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Fill: Ocean's 8, Debbie Ocean/Lou
Date: 2018-07-12 07:56 pm (UTC)Debbie Ocean finished applying her lipstick before speaking. "Okay, Lou, but what does any of that actually mean?"
Lou stood in the doorway to Debbie's bedroom. "Very cute. I assume you've heard of Friday the 13th. Bad luck, black cats, don't walk under ladders, etcetera?"
Deb looked at Lou's reflection in her mirror. "I never pegged you as the superstitious type. Do you have a pair of lucky underwear that you always wear on heists too?"
Lou didn't answer her right away.
"You do, don't you? Oh my God, please tell me which pair -"
"I do NOT. Have a pair of lucky underwear."
Debbie smirked. "Yeah, okay. Sure. What was the other thing? Retro Mercury or something?"
Lou sighed and took a few steps into Debbie's bedroom. Debbie moved around her as she continued getting ready to go out and do recon.
"Mercury is in retrograde, which means that anything that possibly could go wrong, will go wrong. We shouldn't be making any big moves, let alone planning a heist. We can't trust anything anyone says or does -"
Debbie smoothed her hands over her dress and turned towards Lou. "Says who?"
Lou crossed her arms over her chest. "Astrologists," she muttered.
"So we're going to plan our heists around the movement of the planets now, is that it? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?" Debbie walked over to Lou, put her arms around Lou's waist and pulled her close. "What's going on, really?"
Lou shrugged and refused to make eye contact. "I have a bad feeling, is all."
Debbie stood on tiptoe and kissed Lou on the cheek. "Please just trust me. Have I ever steered you wrong?"
"Well, there was that one time..." Lou smirked.
Debbie put a finger to Lou's lips to hush her. "Shhh. We don't speak of that time."
On the night of the 13th, when they met at the rendezvous point, Debbie couldn't help but gloat when Lou admitted that everything had gone according to plan.

Date: 2018-07-12 12:14 pm (UTC)Fill: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes
Date: 2018-07-12 07:05 pm (UTC)It felt like the apocalypse, which made sense since Steve should’ve been dead. Bucky was still undecided.
The hospital room felt stuffy and dark, the unrelenting rain and slate-gray skies keeping the city at perpetual dusk. But Steve didn’t want to turn on the light. He wasn’t even technically supposed to be there, sitting in the visitor’s chair with rain water pooling around his wet sneakers.
“Hey,” Steve said, keeping his voice down. “It’s me.”
The only response was the hiss of the ventilator and the beeping of the heart monitor. Steve nodded, as if Bucky had spoken.
“You don’t have to worry. I’m not gonna get sick. I don’t think I can anymore.”
He was certain he’d died. Remembered tasting blood and gasping for breath and his vision darkening. Remembered those first drops of rain splatting against his face as he fought for his life, and Bucky’s. Could still feel that knee pressed so hard against his chest that he felt his bones snap.
Steve didn’t remember passing out, but he remembered waking up, soaked to the bone but not broken, not bloody. Not like Bucky, who’d been discarded like a broken doll. He’d called for an ambulance and held Bucky’s hand and promised to make things right.
“Only one left now,” Steve told Bucky’s still form. “I don’t know what happens after. But you and me, we’re forever. Don’t forget. Till the end of the line.”
He swiped the tears from eyes, where they burned like acid. Steve had been spared and he knew why. Vengeance. Everything about him that had been sickly and weak, the things that had kept him from defending himself and Bucky, was gone. He could run like he had wings on his feet, without wheezing, and he was strong. Stronger than a sixteen year old boy should be.
Steve had to catch the last member of the gang that had tried to beat the gay out of him and Bucky. Just the ringleader now, and hopefully whatever debt he owed for his life would have been paid with the blood on his hands.
“In case I don’t come back, I wanted to say goodbye. And I’m sorry.” Steve looked at the window, rivulets of rain distorting the view outside. “I hope you have a good life. Remember me like I was. Before.”
Before he’d fallen from grace. Before he’d so willingly taken the lives of others. Steve didn’t know what force had granted him the ability to exact vengeance, but it certainly wasn’t the God his mother used to tell him about. What Steve was doing was Old Testament.
He got up from the chair, conscious of the passing of time and knowing a nurse would be coming in soon. He stepped up next to the bed and looked down at Bucky’s bruised and battered face.
“Love you, punk,” he whispered. He bent over and pressed a kiss to Bucky’s forehead, wiping away the water that dripped on him from Steve’s wet hair. “It’ll be okay. Can’t rain all the time, right?”
Steve slipped out of the room moments later, clear in his mission.
Seven hours and five minutes later the sun broke through the rainclouds, and Bucky Barnes opened his eyes.

Date: 2018-07-12 12:21 pm (UTC)Sidelined, Gotō Kōsei/Tatsumi Takeshi (Giant Killing)
Date: 2018-08-07 03:50 pm (UTC)As the team passed him in the hallway after practice, Goto tried to act as usual. His anxiety was clear to everyone, however, especially Tatsumi. Once they were alone, Goto's smile grew wry but genuine.
"Still no news?"
Goto shook his head, eyes downcast. Tatsumi hummed, slumping against the wall next to him, hands in his pockets.
"Y'know... It's probably my fault."
Goto turned to Tatsumi sharply, confusion on his brows and a question on his lips. Tatsumi continued as if he didn't notice, gazing upward thoughtfully.
"More cushions," he said, nodding to himself, "Less acrobatics. And--"
Tatsumi didn't mind the firm shove to both his shoulder and his head, not when he was also rewarded with a deep blush.
"I don't need a pain in my neck to go with the pain in my back."
Goto then pulled Tatsumi close, tension receding.
"But I guess it could be worse."
