Hello, fellow Comment Ficcers! I will be your hostess for the week, and I am 4bdnsn0wflake. I hope everyone has a fun and inspired time over the next five days.

What is my favorite way to start a hosting week? With a word limit challenge, of course! Today’s theme is 25 Words.

Prompts can be anything, but fills should be 25 words (or multiples of 25).

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

"Do you ever think of me as broken?" Natasha asks, out of the blue. Her tone is curious, not accusatory, as if she were asking about a book club or a new restaurant this side of town.

Pepper sits, looks discerningly. "Never."

"You're never worried I'm not cut out for this whole 'relationship' thing?"

"No. But sometimes I worry that you don't have enough faith in yourself." She grabs Natasha's hands tight.

"You big softie," Natasha says with an eyeroll and a smile. She's deflecting, but Pepper doesn't mind. Pepper told the truth, and Natasha's perceptive enough to know it.

Roy hadn't planned on the sudden downpour. There had been moisture in the morning, but it hadn't worried him- it was bound to dry up toward afternoon, he'd thought. He stuffed his notebook into a pocket.

Could he sprint to the car?

Teioh was saddled up and ready to go. He scratched at the hard floor of the stable. Joe reached in and rubbed Teioh's black feathers.

Around here, they called him "Chocobo Joe." He supposed that spoke to his reputation as an independent chocobo racer. Teioh was the special one though.

Marvel Cinematic Universe, Clint Barton, “How did you get that black eye?”

"Well, there was this gorilla who escaped from the zoo. I thought that was hilarious, so I laughed really loud. But then my laughing attracted attention from this guy who was apparently part of a crime syndicate and he tried to shoot me. And then I shot him of course. But he had time to let off a grenade. I jumped out of the way and managed to get the gorilla out of the way too. And then I decided I deserved a break and went to a bar and got into a barfight with an entire biker game. I won. And then I drove through Florida and at this rest stop you could win 5 bucks for wrestling an alligator. So I got 5 bucks, sweet! And then I took some AIM agents into custody in Miami. Then some ARGUS agents showed up and tried to take credit from SHIELD so we all fought. That was pretty fun. Then I needed to relax so I went rock climbing, and then that was kind of boring, so then I went cliff diving. Then I went home and I was telling the story to my toddler, but I guess I didn't tell it good 'cuz he got bored and jumped off the top of the bookshelf where he'd climbed up and his foot landed on my face and he accidentally gave me this black eye. I was pretty proud, actually. Kid's gonna be great at karate some day, I'm telling you."

"That's really not going to work," Cisco interrupted, and Harry could hear the eye roll in his voice.

Like hell it wasn't. "Don't give me any of your lip!" Harry growled.

Instead of continuing to argue like Harry expected, Cisco just smiled. That was always worrying. "Oh, I'll give you some lip."

A moment later, Cisco was kissing him and Harry couldn't do anything but kiss back. Not that he wanted to. Pretty soon, he couldn't even remember what they'd been arguing about. Well, they'd have plenty to argue about later. They always did.

"I don't mean this in a weird way, but... you're really cool. Like I just feel like you're the coolest person I've ever met."

"Yeah, I get that a lot," she said with a smirk.

He smiled and didn't respond, a bit shy for some reason. Bruce felt that way around Val a lot - excited but somehow calm, shy but comfortable.

She tilted her head and said, "What's really weird is, I'm pretty sure you're cool too. It's weird because you're kind of a dork, and also you're Thor's friend so you're definitely a dork, and also you're human and also kind of nervous and small. No offense."

"None taken," he said with a smile.

"Cool."

"Cool."

"So I figured out why we feel a connection," she said to him as he sat there, huddled in a blanket.

"You felt it too?"

"I'm friends with him."

"Thor?"

"You. Big and green you. We were besties for a couple of years."

"Oh."

"You look disappointed."

Bruce shrugged. "I guess maybe I was hoping it was something... more."

"Maybe that something more is the reason we became friends. Maybe my green friend was just the start of our relationship."

"I'd like that," Bruce said, smiling up at her.

"Get some rest, small and pale."

"That's not going to be my nickname, is it?"

"You want a taste?" Bruce said, stirring the pot of spicy stew.

She took a lick from the wooden spoon.

"Now I know," she said.

"Know what?"

"Why I'm with you. It's for the food."

He rolled his eyes, secretly quite flattered at her opinion of his cooking. "Okay. I'll take it."

"Are you sure?" Bruce asked.

"You're able to, you said. With the medicine?"

"Yeah, I won't turn, but... are you sure this is a good idea?"

She gazed into his eyes, searching. Then she gently caressed his face and said, "Go fuck yourself."

"Okay..."

"You're scared? Even with the medicine, even with the knowledge that Big Green adores me, even with the knowledge that I'm a fucking warrior of Asgard and you couldn't hurt me regardless. And you're scared."

"My track record is pretty disastrous."

"My track record is that I was in love and she died in battle and I spent centuries drinking and taking morally debasing jobs and I haven't been able to look at another person that way since. But I'm willing to take a chance on us. But you're chickening out because of a decade or too of bad results? Fuck right off!"

"That's... actually a really fair point."

"Then..."

"Then you're right. I was scared. But I'm going to be brave."

She smiled, leaned forward and kissed him, long and possessive, backing him up into the wall. She bit on his lower lip.

"How brave?" she asked with a grin.

"Brave enough," he promised.

Bruce put the finishing touches on the repairs to her sword. He wasn't an expert in Asgardian science (he refused to call it "magic"), but he was picking up a few things.

She picked it up, tested it, and gave him a sweet smile.

"Perfect," she said.

"I guess you bring out the best in me."

"That's really cheesy, bro."

"I am who I am."

She kissed him then.

He smiled. "I knew you secretly liked cheesy."

Kimblee seemed to think there was something amusing about the work- the genocidal work (what use was there in sugarcoating it?)- they were tasked with here in Ishval. By outward appearance and demeanor alone, one might take him for a gentleman, but underneath was undiluted psychopathy. Roy wasn't fooled long.
