Greetings! It’s 4bdnsn0wflake again. My birthday is just around the corner, and that has me in the mood to celebrate! So, naturally, today’s theme is Celebrations.

Prompts should have something to do with a celebration of some sort, whether traditional like a birthday, wedding, etc., or something more unusual. It’s up to you!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

"Do you know what today is?" Peter struggled to keep the hurt and annoyance out of his voice, but some of it still slipped through.

Wade nodded, his head looking like a bobbling dog in the back of a car. "Taco Tuesday!"

"No. Well, yes. but that is not what I meant." Because even in the throes of hurt Peter could not deny a technically correct answer.

"I'm stumped." Wade scrunched his forehead in confusion. He was about to answer when the doorbell rang, deepening the frown on Peter's face and giving him an out. "I'll get that." Jumping up he ran to the door, flinging it open to reveal Tony Stark,Pepper Potts, Aunt May and a host of other people crowding onto the landing in front of their apartment.

"Happy Birth anniversary" He yelled before turning to face an non existent camera. "It seems our hero had not forgotten after all."

The apartment was quiet when Clint slipped inside. He expected as much, it was the middle of the day and Phil would still be at work. The warm hit him first and then the smell of fresh pine overlaid with apples and cinnamon. Setting down his gear Clint looked around, noting the changes. In the three days he had been gone Phil had been busy.

There was a tree in the corner awaiting decorations. The doorways were festooned with colored garlands and centered on the coffee table was a large red candle, the source of the scents no doubt.

On the wall next to the doorway into the kitchen phil had built a fireplace out of what looked like fake bricks. From across the room Clint could see two stocking hanging from the makeshift mantlepiece. One was covered in Captain America's shield and had Phil's name stitched on it in a bold red and blue mixture. The other was purple with Clint's name written across it in lavender for contrast.

He didn't remember moving, seeming to have willed himself across the room. With a hesitant hand he reached out to touch the stockings, Phil's first then his own. The material was soft and plush, but sturdy and long lasting. Seeing them hanging there, side by side to mark their family of two was the most beautiful thing Clint had ever seen.

Heero gingerly eased himself off the examining table, holding on for a moment to make sure his legs would hold him before letting go. Everything hurt and he still felt a little light headed. On the other hand he could stand under his own power and walking was painful, but he could do it. No broken bones, no concussion, no extended stays in Preventers medical. That meant despite the aches and pains that would no doubt hang around for a while, this mission went in the win column.

Mike Lawson loves the Padres.

The Padres love Mike Lawson.

So of course he’s never going to be able to leave quietly. His retirement party quickly takes on a life of its own, going from from a simple get together to a bone fide Big Fucking Deal in the blink of an eye. There’s a red carpet and celebrities wall to wall, speeches and presentations and television cameras and anyone who is anyone is at the biggest hotel in San Diego that night.

Mike lasts an hour, tops.

Not because he’s ungrateful. He’s more grateful than he’ll ever be able to express for everything the Padres have done for him. It’s just that, as someone way wiser than him once said, when you know how you’re going to spend the rest of your life, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

And guest of honour of not, Mike decides he can’t wait another minute to find out how Ginny’s smile feels pressed against his lips, how her skin feels under his palms.

Spoiler alert, the answer is better than he ever dared to imagine, and he imagined plenty.

But he never imagined the look in her eyes as he presses her against the wall of his hotel room, the throaty timbre of her voice as she admits that she’d picked out the dress she’s wearing tonight specifically to drive him wild. His voice is just as throaty when he tells her that her plan worked, and that’s before he unzips it and finds out just what she isn’t wearing underneath. Her wicked grin feels even better under his lips than her smile had and the last coherent thought he has before he gives himself over to temptation is that she’s going to be the death of him.

But, he thinks later, what a way to go.
