Monday: 100 Words on Firsts
Aug. 20th, 2018 12:02 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’re going to be filling themes using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Today’s theme is FIRSTS, anything and everything about firsts (first kiss, first pet, first time hiking up a mountain)!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Multiverse, Any, second chance to make a first impression
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, first kiss post-TWS
+ Trixie Belden Mysteries/The Three Investigators, Trixie Belden + Skinner Norris, the first time they make plans to hang out together without Mart there
+ Any, Any m/m,
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Yeah, let yourself go, follow that feeling
Maybe something new is what you're needing
(Darius Rucker)
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-08-20 05:33 pm (UTC)Carson nodded. “His brain is intact, but the nanites wiped everything. He’s a blank slate.”
“How blank?” John asked.
“He’s retained all his motor functions and intellect, but he’ll need to redo military training and the like.”
Art. Cooking. All gone.
“Has he lost his personality?” Ronon asked.
“I don’t think so, but - I didn’t know him too well.”
No one on base had known him as well as Rodney.
He cleared his throat, stepped forward, offered his hand and a smile, the one just for the love of his life. “Hi. I’m Rodney.”

Date: 2018-08-20 06:06 am (UTC)“Sure, I’ll take you to get them,” Trixie shrugs when he approaches her. “I don’t have anything going on.”
When they get to the Orangewood Public Library, Ben runs in while she waits in the car. He slides back into the Bug’s passenger seat, the boxed set in his hands and a big smile on his face.
“So, what did you got?” Trixie asks curiously.
He hands her the box. Trixie looks at each individual case, squinting a little at the small print.
“I used to watch them with Grandmama; they’re some of my very favorite movies.” he reminiscences, missing the old lady all over again.
“I’ve heard of them, but I haven’t seen them,” she admits.
Ben stares at Trixie open-mouthed. “Never?” he breathes. “You, the Queen of All Things Cinema? They’re awesome mysteries with witty banter, and it’s all oh-so elegant--you’ll love them! We can hunker down on the couch with some popcorn and you can tell me what you think.”
“What about Mart?” she teases.
“Daddy-o can go to bed with the chickens, for all I care.” Ben doesn’t really mean that; still, as much as he loves his partner, a love of old movies is something he and Trixie have in common. He can hardly wait to introduce Trixie to The Thin Man films.

Fill: Spooks: Lucas/Adam
Date: 2018-08-20 11:49 am (UTC)"Then your education has been sadly lacking," Adam Carter replied. "I'll help you adjust the strings while Wes throws the kite in the air."
Adam stood close behind Lucas and put his arms around him to assist. The closeness of their bodies provided significant distraction, so it was only Wes' exasperated "Da-a-ad!" which brought their attention back.
They got the kite launched and Lucas set off at a run, the kite flying behind him.
After a while the kite sank back down and Lucas returned grinning broadly. "That was fun!" he said.

Date: 2018-08-20 04:18 am (UTC)Fill - King Arthur (2004) - Arthur/Lancelot
Date: 2018-08-22 11:19 pm (UTC)Drunk enough to not remember the details come morning, drunk enough to fling clothing hastily to the ground, drunk enough to kiss so their teeth clacked together, Arthur’s upper lip bleeding from Lancelot’s shove.
Drunk enough to agree with Bors that the best win for their knife throwing contest was the power to tell any knight they had to “entertain” whomever the winner chose.
Arthur realized the next morning, however, that he hadn’t been drunk enough to regret the warm body sleeping next to his for the first time in as long as he could remember.

Date: 2018-08-21 12:44 am (UTC)Steve stares at her for a moment, because he doesn’t know what to do with that information, either. “He actually said ‘love’?”
“Yes, with an ‘I’ in front and a ‘you’ behind it.”
Steve shakes his head to clear it. “Bucky never says that to a girl, he always said if they heard that word, the’d get the wrong idea. That it was a serious word, and he wasn’t a serious kind of guy.”
“When was this, 1938?”
“Something like that…I lost count of how many girls he had.”
“Unless they’re jailbait, the word you’re looking for, Steve, is women.”
“He specialized in chorus girls. Damn. I never saw this coming. I was worried you’d fall for him--I never expected…but you’re definitely his type--dark hair, athletic, brainy--the real deal. Congratulations. There’s a first time for everything.”

Date: 2018-08-20 05:42 pm (UTC)Rodney glanced up. “What’s what?”
“That napkin you keep tucked into the back of your notebook.”
It was Evan’s first mission since his recovery. He’d picked up many of his old skills easily - combat, tactics, marksmanship, cooking.
But not drawing.
Rodney showed Evan the little folded napkin. “The first sketch you ever drew of me.”
Evan studied it. “I was good.”
“You had decades of practice.” Rodney closed the notebook, tucked it away.
Evan curled his hand around Rodney’s wrist. “Will you help me practice more?”
“Me? I’m no artist.”
“But you’re a beautiful subject.”
