Friday: 100 Words on Lasts

Hi! I’m brumeier, and we’ve had a great week filling themes using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Thanks so much to everyone who left and/or filled prompts this week! Our final theme is LASTS, anything and everything about lasts (last night as a single man/woman, last day at a job, last chance to make a move, etc.)!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Fill: 200, post-Evan/Cam, pre SGA season 2

Evan stood at Cam’s open door, watched him sleep.

He was headed to Atlantis, and he’d be getting Earthside leave annually from here on out.

In a perfect world, they’d be saying goodbye in Colorado Springs in Evan’s apartment. There’d be a homemade gourmet feast, candlelight and slow dancing, slow lovemaking again and again.

Evan would wake before the dawn, kiss Cam goodbye, and be on his way to another galaxy.

But Cam was lying in a hospital bed, paralyzed from the waist down, bitter and agonized and fighting to walk again. His father was furious at him, didn’t understand why he’d made the sacrifice.

Cam had told Evan leave, never come back. Because Evan deserved someone who was whole.

Evan didn’t want anything more in this universe than Cam.

If only he’d known that their last time together would be what it was. He’d have given Cam something better than cheap take-out, a crappy sci-fi flick, and a frantic fuck before one of them shipped out.

There was a last time for everything.

Evan had the sick sense that this was the last time he’d ever see Cam.

So he said I love you and Goodbye and walked away.

The last day of Peter’s high school career was anticlimactic. Clean out his locker. Turn in his textbooks. Help teachers take down the last of the decorations in their classrooms.

And the endless signing of yearbooks.

Good luck! You’ll do awesome! I’ll miss you! Always remember the thing we did at that place with those people. Don’t forget me! Have a great summer!

He didn’t learn anything. No one gave him sage advice.

He just said a whole lot of goodbyes, accepted some invitations to some graduation parties, and took the bus home.

Put on his uniform, went on patrol.
