evil_little_dog, your host this week. Today's theme is travel. Prompts can be anything about travel, including jet lag, car trips, and choruses of "Are we there yet?!".
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Sam, reaching for the radio, paused. “What?”
“Cakehole. Marine slang. I thought you were Air Force.”
“I was,” Sam said.
Bucky smiled at him. “So, what kind of music do you want?”
Sam, eyeing him suspiciously, turned the radio on to a nice R&B station. Then he pulled away from the curb, and they started on their journey. To Sam’s family, who had invited Bucky along for Thanksgiving.
Sam had plans to take a long, winding route back to Colorado where his parents lived, in Colorado Springs (he’d gone to the Academy there). Both of them had packed duffel bags, and this was it. The big road trip home.
Bucky was quiet while Sam guided the car out of the city. Once they reached the open road, Sam let it open up, and both of them relaxed.
And then Bucky began to sing, softly, Don’t go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and the lakes like you used to.
Sam turned to him. “You...you know TLC?”
“I was frozen, not deaf,” Bucky said.
“What other kinds of music do you like?”
“Metallica. That’s fun to work out to. Opera, classical, jazz. Big band, because I can dance to it. Pink Floyd. That’s pretty chill, no pun intended. James Brown. Whitney Houston. A bunch of stuff. I like music in general. Music was - not very Hydra, military marches notwithstanding. Music was how I knew I was really awake. Outside.”
“Well...then you can pick the music,” Sam said. “Sometimes.”
“When I drive?” Bucky asked.
“Always when you drive,” Sam said.
Bucky nodded, gazed out the window at the snowy countryside. “Speaking of cakeholes...we should stop and get some cake.”
