Friday: Community Engagements
Dec. 21st, 2018 12:33 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and we’ve had a great week filling themes inspired by the holidays. Thanks so much to everyone who left and/or filled prompts this week! Our final theme is COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS, anything and everything about being part of the community (block parties, town halls, school concerts, etc.)!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Any, any m/m, holiday potluck supper
+ Marvel Cinematic Universe, Any, Christmas toy drive
+ Trixie Belden Mysteries/The Three Investigators, Trixie Belden +/ Jupiter Jones, getting involved with a local community holiday pageant
+ Stargate Atlantis, Any, forming a social committee
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-12-21 12:15 pm (UTC)“Don’t apologise,” Ros said. “I’m just glad you could make it. I assumed Lucas had had a problem.”
“Yes, but not what you’d think. It took him ages to decide on which bowtie to wear.”
“I think you made a good choice,” Jo replied. She had joined them in the hallway. “Do you want me to relieve you of your dishes?”
“Thank you. I’m afraid I’ve cheated and brought a selection of M&S desserts.”
Jo looked into the bag. “They look wonderful.”
Adam passed over the second bag. “And Lucas’ contribution: sausages, more sausages, and half a chicken.”
Lucas reached out and Jo hurriedly took a couple of steps back.
“Oy, you!” Ros said firmly. “Remember your manners. You’re not allowed to start until the rest of us do.”
Lucas whined.
Ros ignored him and said, “Come on through. Everyone else is here.”
She led the way into the lounge, whilst Jo took the food through to the dining room.
A few minutes later Jo called out, “Everything’s ready. And there’s a plate of sausages on the low table in the corner.”
Malcolm, who was standing next to the door to the dining room, opened it and everyone stood back to let Lucas through first, knowing from past experience they were liable to get knocked over otherwise.
The curtains were open, and the moonlight streamed in through the window. Once Adam and Malcolm had filled their plates they stood looking out of the window. A few minutes later Lucas joined them.
“I used to dread full moon,” Adam said, “but now it doesn’t bother me. Life is a bit like a potluck supper. You never quite know what it’s going to bring, but somehow, with a bit of give and take on everyone’s part it works out.”

Date: 2018-12-21 04:18 pm (UTC)I suspect Lucas, in his current state, will eat most of the meat.
