WE MADE IT! It's the end of the work week! I’m
squidgiepdx and today's theme is damned appropriate, because today's prompts can be anything about the end of the work week. Maybe it's your character's last day before they leave for a new job. Maybe it's Steve McGarrett taking the team out for beers after they close a big case. Or maybe Rodney McKay watches as his team starts to go a little barmy and decides that super-soakers are the best way to end a really bad week. Whatever it is, as long as it deals with the end of the work week, prompt, fill, and then take the weekend off!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, John walks in on the scientists in the middle of a super-soaker fight
+ White Collar, Neil Caffrey/Peter Burke, "It's almost the weekend. Let me steal something nice for you."
+ Grimm, Nick Burkhardt/Monroe, Fridays in Portland are even stranger than normal
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2019-05-05 09:35 pm (UTC)Rodney suddenly appeared at his side and pulled him toward the meager cover he had errected near his desk. He slapped a spare super-soaker into John's hand and snapped, "Figure it out, genius," before going on the attack again.
"Fuck," John muttered as he went the opposite direction of Rodney. "What did you do to piss them off this time?"
"Not a damn thing," Rodney growled. "We are just blowing off steam."
"Right," John snarked. "And Ronon is secretly Arthur Curry."
"Just because he loves to surf doesn't make him King of the Ocean," Rodney grumped. "Now, either help me end this or go away."
"Asshole," John griped, but did what he was told.
*&*
Everyone left the main science deck drenched, but happy.

Date: 2019-05-03 03:30 pm (UTC)It wasn’t hard to track them down. In true fairy tale fashion, Adam followed the trail of cake crumbs, to find Lucas and Wes playing boules in the garden. They saw him and grinned.
“Why?” Adam asked.
Lucas shrugged. “Eh, it’s Friday.”

Date: 2019-05-03 02:48 pm (UTC)On his return he pushed Sherlock’s feet off the table. “Not until after we’ve eaten!” he said.
“Hmph!” Sherlock replied. John thought he might protest further, but the euphoria from solving the case was clearly still present. So, John flicked the tops off the food containers, passed Sherlock a fork, and began to eat.
After a while, he stood up again. “I’m sticking the telly on. Any preferences?”
There was no answer. Sherlock, having been awake for three days, had fallen asleep.

Date: 2019-05-03 06:59 pm (UTC)"Yes, Tony?" Stephen murmured the question not bothering to look up from the ancient text he was absently reading.
"Let's make tonight date night," Tony suggested with a hint of mischief in his voice.
"What?" Stephen asked finally looking at Tony.
"Let's get gussed up and go on a date like normal people," Tony explained hoping his lover hadn't gotten lost in his reading like he had a tendency to do.
"Why?"
"Because it's Friday and we're not in imminent danger, so let's be like normal people for once and go on a date," Tony reasoned.
Stephen closed the text, sat back and silently regarded Tony for several minutes.
This prompted Tony to ask, "Well?"
"Alright," Stephen finally agreed. "Let's go be normal people for once."
"Yes," Tony crowed and clapped his hands together.
"You're such a child at times," Stephen said with a wry chuckle.
"Yes, I know, but you love me anyway," Tony quipped holding out his hand.
"Yes, I do," Stephen agreed accepting Tony's hand and allowing Tony to pull him to his feet and into a tender kiss.

(Walk the Moon)
Fill: Evan Lorne/Rodney McKay
Date: 2019-05-04 01:19 am (UTC)There was no rushing Major Lorne.
When Evan had first approached him, Rodney had been surprised and flattered, and ready to get right to the good stuff. But Evan had just grinned and shook his head and made plans for dinner. And not just a tray of food from the Mess, but a four-course meal he made himself.
That dinner turned into more dinners, and lunches, and once a picnic breakfast out on the pier at sunrise. Sometimes Evan brought Rodney snacks at the lab. He did little sketches of mundane things and Rodney would find them in his pocket, on his lunch tray, in a desk drawer.
It was the most exciting and frustrating relationship Rodney had ever been in. On the one hand, he never knew what to expect. And it was kind of nice to be on the receiving end of all that attention. On the other hand, Rodney had no idea if there was ever going to be sex and it made him a little anxious. What if Evan wasn’t physically attracted to him? There’d been some kissing, sure. But nothing beyond that. If Evan didn’t want Rodney that way, what was the point of all the rest of it?
“What are we doing?” Rodney asked. He’d come out to the East Pier as instructed and found the whole end of it illuminated with flickering candles. There was a small folding table as well, containing a plastic food container, a bottle of wine with two glasses, and a Bluetooth speaker.
“Dancing.”
Evan took hold of Rodney’s hand and pulled him in close, his other hand resting warmly on Rodney’s hip. A slow, jazzy-sounding song started playing, mixing in with the lapping of the water against the pier. With the moon on the rise and the candles, there was no lack of ambiance.
“I don’t dance,” Rodney protested, and tried to step away. Evan merely tightened his grip.
“No-one’s watching,” Evan assured him.
“I’ll probably step all over you.”
“You’ll do just fine.”
“I’m not very –”
“Shut up and dance with me, Rodney,” Evan said with a grin.
So Rodney danced. They moved with the music, turning in slow circles. Rodney was hyper aware of Evan’s body, the freshly-washed scent of him, the warmth of his hand holding Rodney’s. He very much wanted to see Evan naked.
“You’re very beautiful,” Evan said. “Has anyone ever told you that?”
“No.” Rodney looked away, flustered. He wasn’t the kind of guy who got a lot of compliments, particularly about his looks, and he felt vaguely discomfited by it.
“You are. I’d love to do an art study of you sometime.”
Rodney was sure he was blushing. Evan pulled him even closer, his hand sliding from Rodney’s hip to the small of his back. The moment seemed more intimate than anything else that they’d done so far, and the wanting was almost more than Rodney could bear.
“Do you want to have sex with me?” he blurted out, instantly regretting having opened his mouth. He tried to move away again, but again Evan stopped him.
“More than you could possibly know.”
“But…then why all this?”
“Because I want to make sure you know it’s more than sex for me,” Evan said softly, still moving them to the music. “I’m not big on casual hookups. I’m just as happy being with you enjoying a meal or talking.”
That was definitely beyond the scope of Rodney’s experience and he didn’t know how to respond. Luckily Evan spared him any awkward words by pulling him in for a kiss. And not one of the nice, languorous kisses they’d shared in the past. No, this one was all heat and tongue and promise. Evan’s hand moved to palm Rodney’s ass, and as close as they were dancing Rodney could feel Evan’s arousal hot and hard against his thigh.
“No more holding back,” Evan murmured, his mouth hovering just above Rodney’s, his breath unsteady.
For the first time in his life, Rodney felt powerful in a way that had nothing to do with his intellect. “Shut up and dance,” he said, his mouth curling up in a grin as he moved in for another kiss.

"Yeah, eight hours ago," John told him.
"What?" Rodney snapped finally looking up at his lover.
"You've been working on whatever you've been working on for eight solid hours," John informed him. "It's time to knock off, get some dinner and then watch a movie."
"I'm not finished," Rodney protested. "I can't knock off as you say until I finish."
"Yes, you can," John calmly remarked. "We aren't in any immediate danger, so we don't need that device to save our bacon again."
"But, I need..."
"No, you don't."
"Yes, I do!" Rodney declared.
"No, Rodney," John retorted as he told Atlantis to start shutting down the lab.
"You play dirty pool, Sheppard," Rodney muttered as the lab grew silent and dark around them.
"I learned from the best," John remaked holding out his hand. "Now come on. I'll even let you pick out the movie."
Rodney caught hold of John's hand and allowed his lover to lead him from the lab. "That's very gracious of you."
"You damn right it is," John muttered finally getting in the last word.

Date: 2019-05-03 07:43 pm (UTC)"What can I say?" Bruce chuckled, "It's Miller Time."
Thor finished chugging the first bottle of his six-pack (Bruce knew he'd probably end up drinking three more six-packs at the very least, but wanted to start him off slow), and let the bottle clatter on the ground next to his seat.
"Miller? Who is this Miller you speak of?"
Bruce choked on his first gulp of beer. After sputtering for a few moments, he finally answered. "Miller isn't anybody, it's the name of the -"
Valkyrie rolled her eyes, said nothing, and continued to drink.
"You said it was Miller's time, is he going to perform for us? Must we pay tribute to him?"
"No, no, Thor, it's just an expression, it's from an old Midgard commercial -"
Thor polished off another beer and added it to his growing pile of bottles, now up to four. "Oh, like that one about the tiny cheese-flavored crackers that resemble fish? What was it - the snack that smiles back? Goldfish! Is that an expression as well?"
Bruce closed his eyes. "No, Thor."
"And why does this bottle say Miller Lite? Is there a heavier beer? Why aren't we drinking that one?"
"If I give you another six-pack, will you drop it?"
Thor finished his sixth beer and grinned. "I suppose, Banner."
Valkyrie smiled slyly and held up her half-empty bottle. "To Miller and his time."
"TO MILLER!" Thor bellowed.
Bruce sighed in resignation, clinked his bottle again Thor's and Valkyrie's. "To Miller, I guess."
