Just a few rules:

Date: 2019-05-06 02:28 am (UTC)"May I have a cup of coffee before I answer that question?" Desmond countered as he sat up with a huge yawn and stretched.
"I suppose," Jimmy gently teased as he ghosted a soft kiss against Desmond's cheek.
"How gracious of you," Desmond snarked back. He slid out if bed and walked naked into the kitchen.
Jimmy chuckled. It was Desmond's subtle way of telling him to fuck off until he had his coffee.
He had learned to not let it phase him because he knew his lover was not a morning person, but for some reason this morning he woke with the burning need to have this particular question answered not put off like Desmond had a want to do with personal questions.
He slid out of bed, pulled on a pair of discarded sleep pants and grabbed Desmond's robe before following in his lover's footsteps.

"Are you caffeinated enough to answer my question?" Jimmy inquired as he handed Desmond his robe.
"I might be," Desmond answered setting side his coffee cup and accepting his robe, donning it and tying it closed. "Why do you want to know so badly? Have I done something to doubt the sincerty of my affection for you?"
"No," Jimmy quickly replied not wanting Desmond to doubt their love. "No, you haven't."
"Okay," Desmond said giving Jimmy his complete attention. "So?"
"I've been in relationships before where I've been told that I was loved, but it never was truly shown to me, so why now and why you?" Jimmy explained hoping he made sense.
"Those people loved you for your body or for what you could do for them," Desmond cautiously answered. "I love you for you. Not just for the sex or for what you can do for me financially, but for your beautiful soul. I want to grow old with you, and if that sounds corny so be it."
Jimmy ducked his head to hide the tears that sprang into his eyes. He was damned if he was going to break down and cry.
"Come here," Desmond softly commanded holding his arms open.
Jimmy went willing into Desmond's arms and buried his head in the crook of Desmond's neck. "Romantic sap," he murmured.
"Like you have room to talk," Desmond retorted as he pulled Jimmy close and dropped a kiss on the top of his head.
