Friday: Hurt/Comfort
Jun. 14th, 2019 07:12 amHi, everybody! I’m your host
templefugate and today's theme is hurt/comfort. Prompts can be anything about characters getting hurt and then comforted (or maybe just one or the other).
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Any, any, agony
+ Shazam!, Darla Dudley & Billy Batson, "I wouldn't abandon you."
+ MCU, Steve Rogers, leading a post-snap support group
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2019-06-15 02:09 am (UTC)Detroit: Become Human, Connor | RK800 & Hank Anderson
Date: 2019-08-15 01:15 am (UTC)How different should it feel? Logic dictates that its reaction to another android's shutdown can't be worse than to its own, to the awareness that it's replaceable, that it has been replaced in multiple circumstances. Connor is a replacement.
The PL600 is, too, its deviancy making it consider itself unique though it's not, the only difference between it and other PL600 models being its serial number. It's simple: it shoots itself and shuts down, the only value in it now being its spare parts and knowledge regarding deviancy. That's what should be.
It's also what it isn't. From the android's memory, it feels like death. Not just an ending, a halt to his system, but loss. It's not numeric, Connor can't pinpoint anything in its code that may have led it to recognize this as a feeling. It doesn't feel -- it's a machine.
Its hardware disagrees. The body that it knows was built almost crumbles under the immense nothingness, a sensation it can only identify due to its database running through it. Fright.
It goes against a RK800's programming, no one has to tell Connor as much. He's the one who tells others that androids don't feel. Androids aren't living beings, they are machines. That's all he knows.
All he knew. He used not to know fear, either. Maybe, he wonders.
Lieutenant Anderson runs to his side, asking about his wellbeing. He's an android, he thinks. He's well as long as his parts can be fixed.
"I'm ok," he answers, not feeling it at all. That shouldn't be a problem. Androids don't feel. But it's not that he doesn't feel, it's that he doesn't feel ok. He feels lost. He feels scared. He even feels the sense of duty that the inso-called "Simon" did before.
Hank is still speaking, complaining, predictably, and Connor knows his auditory sensors pick up on it and yet they don't quite seem to register it. "I was connected to its memory..." He begins, explaining himself for Hank's sake and his own. "When it fired... I felt it die." It. The PL600 shouldn't be referred to so casually as an object, not with all the history behind him. Jericho. "Like I was dying." Hank seems intrigued, moreso than he did upon seeing the crime scene at Stratford Tower. Connor wonders how much he understands about the situation - more than he suspects, likely.
"I was scared." He is scared. There are plenty of RK800s available to take his place should the need arise, but he doesn't want that to happen. He's not afraid of shutting down. He's afraid of dying, a thought that's more than anything he can handle.
What he can do is fulfill his purpose. His given purpose. Find Jericho, even if he doesn't know why.
