Happy weekend, everyone! It's that time again - the Friday Free for All. That means all fandoms, pairings, and prompts are accepted.
All our usual rules apply, of course.
No more than 5 prompts in a row, and no more than 3 prompts per fandom. When someone answers your prompt, you can prompt again.
No spoilers in your prompts for at least one week after the original air/publication date. This is especially important now that shows are starting to come back from hiatus! If you have spoilers in the story, please warn in bold and leave at least 3 spaces.
Please remember to format your prompts appropriately. For example:
So let's get things rolling! And don't forget, this weekend is one of our Lonely Prompt Challenges. Be sure to tune in. :)

Firefly, Mal, in all these things we come undone
Burn Notice/Leverage, Mike/Tara, well that was entirely unexpected (... alright, maybe not)

Date: 2010-11-13 02:45 am (UTC)The Werewolf looked up from the bag he was currently stuffing with other equiptment. “Yeah. It goes ding when there's stuff. Also, it can boil an egg at 30 paces, whether you want it to or not, actually, so I've learned to stay away from hens. It's not pretty when they blow.”
Blinking, Will looked down at the device warily. “Boil an egg…You sure it’s safe to be near a person?”
“Sure,” Henry replied, then looked over at Will. “Though you might want to hold it away from your boys. If you want to have kids. If not, rock on.”
“Great,” Will muttered, walking out of the lab, the detector held as far away from his body as possible.
Once he was out of sight, Henry chuckled. Sometimes, messing with Will was too easy.

The next night he entered Kaylee's room quietly. They were long past knocking.
When he saw Jayne in bed next to her, her hands trailing along Jayne's stomach as she whispered in his ear, Simon felt a wave of anger and jealousy and hurt. He swallowed it.
Kaylee had her right to her revenge.
He smiled, not sincerely, and said, "Am I interrupting?"
She smiled back. "No, we were just waiting for you."
Jayne added, "It's about damn time, too. Startin' to feel left out."
Simon sighed. This had the makings of a very large disaster. If he had any sense at all, he'd say no.
But then, sense had never been his strong point.

Date: 2010-01-25 11:00 am (UTC)He gets up and moves closer, staring at the device over her shoulder, and Suzie realises then that he knows she's been watching, had probably known since she started.
"There's something you never told me," he says, leaning over her workbench, close enough that she can feel the heat of his body, but never quite touching. "What do you want here, Suzie?"
He's close enough for her to feel warm breath against her skin, close enough that she can smell him (and oh, he does smell good), and she almost laughs. It's a proposition, she knows -- or rather, something he's trying to make look like a proposition, just like weapons training, just like everything else he's done. He's feeling out her boundaries, and if she took him up on that offer, he'd be more than willing to follow through, she knows, but he'd also get another little piece of her.
"I want to finish putting this back together," she says. "Which I can't very well do with you standing over my shoulder, can I?"
He chuckles. "Lies of omission? We're not even on our first date."
She pulls a face. "Oh, sorry, were we dating? Here I thought you'd hired me. Though if that's what you're after,Jack, I'm sure there are a few women on any number of street corners that can do it better. Good luck getting any of them to fix an alien PlayStation, though."
She waves a screwdriver for emphasis, and Jack's chuckle turns into a full-throated laugh. "Hey, I'm new at this 'boss' thing. Really, though..."
"Really, I'd just like to do my job, o Captain."
"Your Captain?" he asks, finishing the quote with an expression of wide-eyed innocence.
"I suppose so," Suzie says. "I don't see anyone else laying claim, so I might as well. That's still no reason for you to get ideas." Her tone darkens a bit, a none-too-subtle reminder of what happened the last time it looked like he might get ideas, and how close they both came to losing something -- namely, his testicles, and her job.
It's not that she doesn't want him. She's not blind, and she's hardly a nun. But most men, in her experience, hide the desire for sex behind something else. With Jack, the desire for sex is the disguise, and it unsettles her. He's a smiling predator, all teeth and ego and sharp edges he thinks he's hiding. It's enough to reel her in, and enough to make her wary.
If she knew what he was after... Well. Things might be different, or they might not be. Ill-advised sex is one thing, but if it costs her this...
She loves this job. What she wants is to keep it.
"That's not an answer," he says, and she thinks she detects a hint of frustration in his voice. Good.
"No," she says. "It isn't."
"You know I'm just going to get the real answer out of you eventually," he tells her, tone just shy of petulant, but with a subtle implication that what she wants, obviously, is him.
"Will you?" She raises an eyebrow.
He has no answer for that, and it's just as well.
