Hello, everyone. I’m
nagi_schwarz, your host for the week. Today's theme is song lyrics! Prompts can be anything from the lyrics to chart-topping pop songs to the words of an ancient ballad.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+Any, any, Isn't it lonely? / I'd do anything to make you want me / I'd give it all up if you told me / That I'd be / The number one girl in your eyes (Number One Girl - Rose)
+Any, any, You're not alone / Look at my shadow, I'm behind you like a ghost / Mission "die a legend" is a go (Come Play - Stray Kids)
+Any, any, And I can make you every promise that has ever been made / And I can make all your demons be gone / But I'm never gonna make it without you / Do you really wanna see me crawl (Out Of Nothing At All - Air Supply)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2024 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? You can use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Fret not, DW members; we are working on a way to search through old entries for prompts for you! As of right now, the best way to search for a lonely prompt on DW is to search the community’s archive, which can be found [[HERE]].
While the use of LJ's advanced search and DW’s archive are options, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching in the future.
As a friendly reminder about our schedule, Lonely Prompts and sharing completed fills are encouraged on Sundays, while new themes and prompts are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day. We'll share our posts on DW and LJ for everyone's convenience. Keep an eye out for notifications!

Fill: Wonderful World/Island, Kwon Seonyul + Father Yohan
Date: 2024-12-04 03:41 am (UTC)Snow always reminded him of the night his father died, was murdered, struck down by a speeding car.
Karmic, he supposed, given that he’d struck his killer’s son down with a car.
It was a winter night that should have been happy, Seonyul blessed with good news: he’d be getting the heart transplant he needed.
But that night had broken his heart, and now —
Now as he trudged along the icy street, wrapped in his warmest coat, he wondered if he’d ever enjoy winter again ever enjoy Christmas again. He was older now, leaner, colder, sadder. He was almost glad that his mother had never awakened from her coma long enough to see what he’d become, her fallen son.
Now that he’d achieved his revenge, taken down the corrupt politician who’d held his heart transplant hostage in exchange for his father committing a cover-up murder, what was left for him?
He needed an angel on his shoulder.
He needed a little Christmas spirit — that warmth and hope.
He cast about — and saw a glowing red cross halfway down an alley. Christian churches were sprinkled everywhere through the city, but that seemed like an unlikely place for one.
But then he remembered that priest he’d met at the street tent bar, the one with a face identical to his, the one who’d wielded a glowing blue sword against snarling shadows, the one who’d known sadness and tragedy fit to rival his own.
That priest had been able to smile and comfort others. But then he’d been the opposite of Seonyul, hadn’t he? Chosen to pursue a path of good instead of a path of vengeance.
Seonyul remembered that uncanny blue flame limning the vicious cutting edges of the sword, and the priest’s little cross earrings, and wondered if he could step onto a new path. He’d never been one for religion or faith, too rational to believe in things he couldn’t experience, too bitter and vengeance-driven to have time for hope. But he veered toward that cross, and he found the door it blazed above, and he knocked.
Was it just a coincidence, that the man who answered the door was none other than Father Yohan, from that night at the street tent bar? Seonyul had once believed that the universe was out to get him, had ripped his family from him.
Maybe the universe was done screwing him over.
“Hello, Kwon Seonyul,” Father Yohan said. “What can I do for you this evening?”
Seonyul took a deep breath. “Are you — are you doing anything for Christmas?”
“As in for Christmas day, or as in right now?” Father Yohan tilted his head, wearing a faint smile.
“Either. Both?”
“I am baking some Italian Christmas cookies. Could use a hand. You any good at cooking or baking?” Father Yohan held the door open wider, gesturing for Seonyul to enter.
“I make a mean packet of ramyeon.” Seonyul toed off his shoes just inside the front door.
Tonight, Father Yohan looked more like a Catholic priest, wearing a flowing black cassock and white collar — beneath a frankly ridiculous-looking apron.
“Well, here’s a chance to learn something new. Miho-noona always tells me ladies love a man who can cook or bake, but I’m not really in it for the ladies. At least, not like that.” Father Yohan led Seonyul away from the small chapel and down a side hallway to a modest kitchen — where every flat surface was cluttered with baking trays, mixing bowls, and dustings of flour.
“I bet the ladies love you, though.”
“Never really been in it for the ladies,” Seonyul admitted, feeling his face heat.
“Well, once you master these delicacies, you can tell me if they really work on the ladies.” Father Yohan handed Seonyul a spare apron and showed him where to wash his hands. “You’re not allergic to nuts, are you? These are called baci di dama, or ladies’ kisses. Chocolate hazelnut cookies.”
Seonyul confirmed he wasn’t allergic to nuts. And then he plunged into baking alongside the cheery priest, showing him K-pop Christmas tunes on his phone. He didn’t feel warm, not quite yet, but he figured he was finally headed in the right direction.

Date: 2024-12-03 09:12 pm (UTC)Fill: BBC Merlin, Merlin/Arthur
Date: 2024-12-06 01:45 am (UTC)Arthur was so drunk he only imagined Merlin’s soft sigh and his even softer reply, I’d go anywhere with you.
Arthur was stone-cold sober and sweating, exhausted after a hard morning’s training, when he saw Gwaine flash a grin at Merlin, who was standing beside the water barrel and ladling water into the tin cups of thirsty knights.
“Run away with me,” Gwaine said.
“Apologies, Sir Gwaine, but I have duties to attend to.” Merlin sounded serious, but there was a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Gwaine leaned on the fence beside Merlin and shook out his soft, shaggy hair. “Come on. Two kids, you and me, lost souls in revelry, running wild and running free.”
“You mean you drinking and gambling and me dragging your sorry arse to bed,” Merlin said.
Gwaine chuckled ruefully. “Aye, you know me too well.”
“I’d better stay, but thanks for the offer,” Merlin said.
The second time Arthur said, Run away with me, the kingdom was under attack. He’d ordered everyone to fall back toward the city itself, for peasants to gather inside its walls and soldiers and knights to defend them.
Merlin had stood fast, watching then tidal wave of armor and flame and forces pouring down the hill and into Camelot’s fertile fields.
“Merlin, we have to go! That’s an order!” Arthur shouted.
But Merlin raised one hand, and his eyes glinted golden, and he spoke words Arthur couldn’t understand, and it was like the tidal wave hit a wall.
The third time Arthur said, Run away with me, he was clutching the bars of Merlin’s cell, begging him to let his eyes turn golden again.
But Merlin reached through the bars and said, “No. You must stay here, and become the Once and Future King.” He curved one hand along Arthur’s jaw and gazed at him with blue, blue eyes. “I promise I’ll be by your side. But you cannot trouble yourself for me.”
“Run away with me,” Arthur said again.
What he meant was, Don’t leave me.
But then Merlin pushed him away, and guards were yelling, and Arthur tugged up the hood of his cloak and fled.
He stood, stone-faced, beside his father as Merlin was led to the pyre. The knights were equally stone-faced as Aredian read the charges. Merlin was guilty of no treason. He’d used his magic to save the kingdom.
Arthur couldn’t look away as the fires were lit, but he wished that he could close his eyes and weep, the way Morgana had he face buried against Gwen’s shoulder as she sobbed silently.
But then there was an explosion of gold and blue, and the pyre blazed high, blindingly bright.
As the flames receded, Arthur felt a cool breeze, and a voice whispered in his ear.
Run away with me.

Date: 2024-12-04 02:51 am (UTC)Seifer scowled at him and shoved a healing potion into his hands. “Just because you’re good at throwing punches doesn’t mean you’re good at taking them.”
Zell accepted the potion with a grateful bob of his head, then downed it in one shot before he could really taste it. The tingle of magic spread through his lips, and the sting in his lip eased. “I am a martial artist. My fists and feet are my weapons. I have taken many punches in my nearly two decades of training.”
He nodded at the carcass of the downed adamantoise they’d taken on together. Now that Seifer’s Hyperion had been upgraded with the last batch of adamantium Zell had managed to bring back to Balamb Garden on his own, they could go monster hunting together.
“That doesn’t sound as good as you think it does.” Seifer cleaned his blade between every battle. He’d always been precious with it, as any blademaster would, but ever since he’d gotten it upgraded, he practically coddled the thing.
Still, it was lovely, gleaming in the late afternoon sunlight.
Seifer added, almost too softly for Zell to hear, “You are a hero, though.”
Zell usually hated being called a hero, one of the Heroes of the Sorceress War.
He was pretty sure Seifer meant something different by it, though.
Zell couldn’t help but nudge Seifer’s shoulder with his. When Seifer turned to him, Zell batted his eyelashes and said, “You’re my hero.”
Seifer huffed and shoved him away, but not hard enough to really hurt him.
Zell laughed and picked himself up. “Now, shall we see what we’ve won?”
