Hey there, I'm Fluffmonkey and I'll be your Guest Host for this week. Today's prompt is Kids. Maybe there's little ones running around, maybe the characters are remembering when they were children, or perhaps they somehow got turned into children for hilarity. Anything goes so long as it fits.

Don't forget the rules!
~Please no more than five prompts in a row, but if someone answers your prompt, feel free to post another prompt
~No more than three prompts per fandom
~No spoilers for at least a week after publication or air date, and if there /are/ spoilers, please put up a warning and leave space for people to skip it
Please be nice to the lovely code monkeys when making your prompts!

Always remember, Fandom, character(/ or and character if you want), prompt

“Hello, Craig. Great to see you,” says the man at the door, before bending down to Alfie’s level. “Happy birthday, Alfie!” He presents a brightly wrapped package from behind his back.

Alfie just stares, jaw dropped.

“Doctor,” Daddy says. “Great to see you, too. Don’t mind him, he’s a little shy around strangers. Everything’s all right, isn’t it?”

“Just a social visit, this time. I promise. Cross my hearts and hope to- well, you know,” the man says, standing back up.

“Good, great,” Daddy says, sounding relieved. “Please come in.”

“But he’s not a stranger,” Alfie finally says.

“I’m not?” the man says, smiling down at Alfie a little strangely.

“No, you’re the star man,” he says.

“What do you mean, Alfie?” Daddy says.

“No, no. You’re absolutely right,” the man says, something weird in his voice. “What do you say, Stormy? Shall we get back to your party?”

Alfie smiles, and reaches for the man’s hand, dragging him inside.

“Okay,” Daddy says, sounding confused. “But you’re explaining that one. Don’t think you’re not.”

The man says something about unusual memories and impressions and the human mind that Alfie can't pretend to understand. "I knew you were real," he says, when the man stops talking. "I just knew."

The man grins down at him. "Of course, I am. Why wouldn't I be?"

FILLED: 100 words on love

He should’ve brought a costume. But then again, how the hell was he to know? He’d NEVER been trick or treating, his dad hadn’t let them. So how was he supposed to know that accompanying adults were supposed to be in costume, too?

ANYTHING would have been better than being left to Gracie’s frightening powers of improvisation.

Steve sneezed, as the pink feathers of his boa tickled his nose. Rachel’s damned sarong, likewise pink, kept slipping and the sparkly tiara hurt like blazes.

The look on Gracie’s face, however, made him forget it all.

“Trick or Treat!” he growled happily.

When Pippa and Matty's game of orb-and-seek ends up on the Golden Gate Bridge, Chris hangs onto his temper with clenched fingers and tersely orders them to their rooms. They’re too young to understand that he’s more terrified than angry, and he finally gets just why Mom used to have furtive talks with the aunts about binding all the next generation’s powers.

“Breathe, babe,” Bianca says, leaning into him. “You found them. They’re not hurt. They won’t do it again for at least a day.”

“A day,” Chris laughs, almost hysterically. “Shit.”

Bianca smiles, pressing a quick kiss to his nose. “C’mon, Chris. Your turn to feed the munchkin. I’ll go explain to the terrible two why Daddy freaked out all over them.”

Chris nods, heading to the kitchen, where Lynn is banging her spoon on her highchair. She grins up at Chris and shimmers the spoon away.

“Mom, I owe you a massive apology,” he mutters, orbing the spoon back.

SPN, Dean and Sam, his love for Sam is more than brotherly. In every way except biology, Sam is his kid.

Hush baby, sleep baby, my baby, mine

Date: 2011-10-27 03:40 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] arnica.livejournal.com
"Do you want to see my baby?" Dean is grinning up at the waitress, all huge smiles and green eyes. He has almost as much blueberry pie on his hands as he does on his face. Chubby fingers stained purple from where he's been swiping them through his dessert and then popping them into Sam's mouth despite the two new sharp teeth that occasionally bite down without warning, peel back the yellow blanket that Sam's wiggling has managed to push half over his face. "He's getting sleepy, but you can look at him if you want."

The girl in the blue uniform smiles at John before leaning over to coo at the large hazel eyes blinking owlishly up at her.

"What a lovely little brother you have." John sighs raggedly as Dean's tiny mouth screws itself down into a scowl that looks just like his, round eyes growing narrow and promising tears.

"He's not my brother, he's MY baby." Purple fingers flick the blanket back up, completely covering Sammy's face in his car seat. Under the blanket his youngest starts to fret and Dean is sniffling even as he runs his fingers back through the pie and carefully maneuvers them under the blanket without showing so much as an inch of chubby pink baby skin to the startled girl.

"Sorry about that." John's exhausted and knows he sounds it as he cuddles his oldest against him, careful not to dislodge his fingers from the baby's mouth. "We um, we lost their mom a couple months ago and this is how he's dealing I guess." The girl melts. They all do. "Could we maybe get some warm water, not to hot, to make a bottle?"

"You poor things, you sure can, I could make it for you if you like. I've got one myself. You want some more coffee while I'm back there?" Around Dean's fingers Sammy's fussing is getting louder and he's still six hours away from Jim's. John surrenders the powdered formula and bottles without hesitation.

"It would be appreciated."

By the time the girl get's back, Dean is cuddled against his father's side, Sam whining desperately in his brother's arms. The waitress sets the coffee on next to John's free hand and leans across him to offer the bottle to his four year old.

"I made you a bottle for your baby. Make sure it's not too hot." It's like magic the way his son's face, which has been creeping closer to meltdown with every upset noise his baby brother makes, clears as he grasps the blue plastic and pops it directly into his mouth, grimacing around the nipple at the too sweet taste.

"Yuck!" His elbow takes John in the ribs roughly as Dean yanks it out of his mouth and pops it directly into Sam's, who starts sucking noisily away. "Don't be a piggy Sammy. You're gonna get sick on me again." Dean's eyes are bottle green as he beams up at the girl. "Thank you."

"You are very welcome sweetheart. You are just the best little daddy I've ever seen, you know that?" She grins at him as Dean beams.

"I have to be. There are monsters after us." And that's their cue for the check. Thank God Dean's so small and sleepy looking because the waitress never even blinks.

"Well then, you're daddy can protect you and you'll take care of your baby and all three of you will be just fine." She winks at John. "Let me get y'all your check."

Supernatural, Dean/or+Cas +any others, angel babies!

Date: 2011-10-24 10:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] metallikirk.livejournal.com
The sound of excited childish chatter seemed to filter through the entirety of Bobby’s house, as Dean slumped wearily onto a couch, limbs aching and as worn as the cushions beneath his ass. He stretched his legs before him, flexing his toes within the confines of his boots to ease cramps in the muscles. He yawned, suddenly, before he rested his head on the back of the couch wearily.

He closed his eyes, feeling the bright sunburst-pain of an impending headache tug at his temples and the backs of his eyes. Despite the importance of the day, Dean still found himself wishing it was over. He could face a whole horde of demons and an entire host of angry archangels and it still wouldn’t be a patch on the noise and flurry that had surrounded him for the better part of the afternoon.

He sighed lustily and pinched the bridge of his nose between thumb and forefinger, and thought about rustling up some Tylenol or something for his headache. It was as he was trying to convince his aching muscles to act upon his headache-induced needs, that he heard the flurried wing-beats of Castiel’s approach.

“Hey, Cas,” Dean greeted, with a weary yawn and a glance up at the angel.

“Hello, Dean. Why are you inside?” Castiel asked, perching primly beside Dean on the couch.

“Can you blame me? It’s like a war zone, out there,” Dean snorted back, as he cocked a worn down glance towards Castiel

“It’s our daughter’s birthday, not a war zone, Dean,” Castiel replied, a small frown pulling his eyebrows down low over stormy blue eyes. “There is a distinct difference between the two.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” Dean replied, with a smirk. “I swear those little angel babe friends of hers would have more luck with collectively killing me than the Marines would.”

Castiel didn’t get a chance to respond, as pounding feet announced the arrival of a small, whirling form of giggling angelic glee and the excited face of their daughter, Haniel, pouncing heftily into Dean’s lap. Dean “oof-ed” in mock pain, even as his arms encircled the body of his daughter instinctively. Haniel giggled and wriggled against him, fluffy wings beating the air behind her and brushing methodically over the elder Winchester’s bare fore-arms. Dean couldn’t help but smile proudly and more than a little fondly at the shining angel-babe’s face as she grinned back at him.

For all the freckles that liberally dusted the bridge of her nose, which she’d inherited from Dean, she looked exactly like Castiel. Dark hair fluffed around an innocent face, while dark eyelashes curled around wide blue eyes. Dean found himself marvelling at the sight of her again, unable to believe that this little life had been created between Castiel and himself. All the weariness he felt melted away in the face of his daughter’s happy smile. Even Castiel was smiling, as he reached forward to stroke one of the babe’s wings affectionately. She giggled and twisted round to peer at Castiel curiously.

“Hey, Han, where‘s your uncle?” Dean asked, as he wiped a smudge of chocolate from her cheek.

“Unca Sammy is playing outside wiv Unca Bobby and my friends,” Haniel replied, with a nod, as she turned an inquisitive look up at Castiel again. “Daddy Cas, did you know Raziel is braiding Unca Sammy’s hair?”

The phone call comes halfway through an important meeting with Harvey. Donna steps into his office, a bemused expression on her face, and says there's someone on the line for Mike.

"Tell them he'll call them back," Harvey dismisses with a wave of his hand, eyes glued to the page. This merger is important; Jessica will kill him if he fucks this up.

Donna coughs. "It's your son's school," she says as Mike's expression falls and he stands with a start. "They say he's too ill and needs to be taken home."

Harvey finally looks up, glancing from a composed Donna to the horror on Mike's face. "Excuse me? Son?"

Before Harvey can question him, Mike hurries out of the office and towards Donna's booth. Harvey and Donna watch as he talks seriously into the phone, forehead creasing into a hard frown, before he finally hangs up.

"I'm sorry," Harvey says, "I've got to go."

He doesn't even wait for permission - just flies out of the building like he's being chased by hell hounds.

"Oh fuck me," Harvey says with feeling.

*

Mike hasn't visited his grandmother in a week, Josh is sick, and Harvey's all-important merger is tomorrow.

Life just isn't fair.

"Dad?"

Mike bustles back into Josh's room with his phone in one hand and forced smile on his face. "Are you all right, kiddo? You don't want to be sick again, do you?"

Josh shakes his head, hair flopping into his eyes. Mike perches on the side of his son's bed and smooths the strands back with a genuine smile of fondness. His grandmother always says that Josh looks just like him as a kid.

"Will you read me a story?" Josh asks in a quiet voice, like he knows his father's too busy to indulge him, and Mike feels so much guilt pressing against his chest he can hardly breathe.

"Of course," Mike nods, doesn't stop nodding. "Which one?"

Josh pulls a book out from its hiding place under the covers, and Mike smiles at his choice. "All righty, then. Snuggle in, little man. Comfy? Good. In a land of myth and magic..."

*

"So will you care to explain what happened yesterday?" Harvey asks the second Mike walks through the door.

Mike sighs. He's tired, having stayed up all night reading Harvey's papers, and he unceremoniously dumps it all on Harvey's desk without preamble.

"Look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I really needed this job, and I knew you wouldn't hire me if I told you about Josh." Mike shoves his hands in his suit pockets, unable to meet Harvey's eye. "No one would hire me if they knew. I'm a single dad under the age of thirty, with no qualifications. Why do you think I worked for Trevor? I was desperate, man. I've got a kid to feed and look after, not just my grandma."

Harvey takes in Mike with a blank face. "The mother?"

Mike's eyes darken. "She upped and left after giving birth to him. I was nineteen. Grandma looked after him, but then she fell ill, and I had to step up."

Harvey is quiet for a moment. The sound of Donna's fingernails against the keyboard is loud even through the door.

Eventually he says, "All right. You have a kid, fine. Just no more lies. I catch you keeping anything else from me, you're out. And if it affects your work, you're out. Understood?"

Mike's shoulders relax visibly, but his face stays impassive as he nods. "Thanks, Harvey."

Harvey waves a hand at the door. "Now get out. I've got work to do before the merger." He picks up Mike's work as Mike heads for the door. "Who's looking after your kid right now?" Harvey suddenly asks, Mike's hand on the glass.

"Jen," Mike answers with a tight smile. "I had to call in a favour. Didn't really have any other options."

Harvey nods, and then Mike is gone.

Stargate SG1, Sam/Jack, Sam wished she could talk to herself as a child

Just Some Advice, PG (Stargate SG1, Sam/Jack, Sam wished she could talk to herself as a child)

Dear Younger Me,

Someday, you're going to meet a remarkable man. Oh, I suppose it's reasonable to say that you'll meet many remarkable men, but there's this one...

Well, you'll know who I'm talking about when you finally meet him.

You'll tell yourself that you have to be serious, responsible, and adult. You'll worry about age differences, regulations, and whether or not a person who's as too-damned-serious as you are can live with a man who doesn't see life the way you do.

You'll hesitate and wait and prevaricate because when it comes to men, that's what you do.

Listen: just for once -- just this time -- stop thinking and go with your instincts. Because if you mess this one up, you'll never stop regretting it.

That's all I have to tell you. Take care. And good luck.

Older Sam

P.S. No... he's not secretly seeing that other guy, so don't worry about that. Yes, they act like a married couple sometimes, but they're both straight.

Chuck, Chuck +or/ Casey, the team has grown so close, somehow Casey is basically a second father to Chuck’s children

Date: 2011-10-25 04:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] indraleigh.livejournal.com
Stomping to the school building Casey wondered what happened that resulted in calling Chuck or Sarah. Except with them out of town for work it was up to Casey to make the trip to school. When Sarah popped out their first kid it was Casey who made the rule that someone always stays with the kids so if something happens they won’t loose everyone.

Carrie (with a just had a big cry face) and Lisa (with a bruise and scratched knuckles) sitting on a bench next to the principals office. Across the hall was a larger boy with his arms crossed and no one was happy.

“Girls?” Casey softly said. Big bad ass spy John Casey simply wrapped his arms around the girls when they ran to hug him.

“Mr. Bartowski?” The Principal stiffly presumed seeing the Bartowski girls hug him.

“He’s not Dad.” Lisa corrected.

“He’s our Casey.” Carrie said.

“John Casey. Chuck and Sarah are out of town and you heard them I’m their Casey.” Casey explained as the Principal held open the office door for the trio.

“Carrie, Lisa would you like to explain to Mr. Casey what happened today?” The Principal said once Casey managed to pry the girls off him.

“At lunch me and Lisa were talking about what to do for Dad’s birthday and Hector said that we didn’t have a real Mom and Dad because they don’t pick us up from school and we have to ride the bus. He said they don’t care about us because they are always on vaction and don’t want to be with us.” Carrie said starting to sniffle up again.

“Hector started to push Carrie and he said they Mom and Dad never come to parties and when Carrie started to cry Hector pushed her down and laughed. I tried to get between them and then Hector hit me and think I hit him when I tried to helped Carrie off the floor.” Lisa told Casey as he had one eye on the girls and one eye on the principal.

“You girls know that your Mom and Dad love you, right?” Casey asked, his priorities of the girls safety and happiness first, destroy Hector second.

“Absolutely for sure Casey.” Lisa and Carrie answered, both nodding as Casey reached to hug them again. Handing the girls a rubiks cube from out of his pocket and telling them to take a seat in the corner of the office Casey took a step close to the Principal and softly spoke.

“I believe the girls and Lisa was protecting Carrie when they were attacked by a bully. I will be taking the girls home for the rest of the day. I expect the bully to be suitably punished and we will be expecting a report of his punishment.” Casey said not letting the Principal speak. “Come on girls. We’re going home.”

“Can we go watch movies at the Buy More?” Lisa asked as Carrie jumped up and bounced holing a solved rubiks cube.

“Home movies at the Buy More and later you can challenge Jeff and Lester to some wii games.” Casey said as he walked out with a Bartowski girl holding on to each hand.
