Date: 2012-07-09 03:49 pm (UTC)She finds the list when she's sorting through his things, packing them up to ship off to his folks. She can't keep them around because every time she looks at them — especially those stupid plastic dinosaurs — she's hit with the pain of losing him all over again, and she can't afford to fall to pieces. The rest of the crew's counting on her.
The piece of paper falls out of a well-read book, and she almost dismisses it as trash until she flips it over and sees the title scrawled in his familiar, messy hand. Reasons Zoe and I Should Just Make a Baby Already, Dammit.
Her lips quirk upward in a half-smile as she unfolds the paper and skim the list. He's got 15 reasons, ranging from the serious (We're not getting any younger, and we'll need someone to take care of us when we're older.) to the hilarious (Seriously, a woman that fine should bring many beautiful babies into the world.) to the absolutely absurd (C'mon, I need somebody who gets me and my insane love of dinosaurs. Think of all the fun me and our child could have together! The imaginary worlds we could conquer!)
She gets to the end of the list, and her throat catches at the final reason (Because Zoe would be an amazing mother. She may not realize it, but she loves and cares for those around with her with a fierce passion. Just watch the way she interacts with the Serenity crew. She's practically a mother already, if you think about it.)
The tears are spilling down her face before she even realizes it, but she figures she's allowed. She's still in the acceptable mourning period, after all. Besides, no one's around to see her cry anyway. In a fit of anger, she crumples the note up into a little ball and flings it away from her as she sinks to the floor, clutching her knees to her chest.
Later, when she eventually regains her composure, she sniffles and eyes the crumpled up wad of paper. She stands and walks the few feet, bending down to scoop it up. Then she carefully uncrumples it, laying it against the surface of the dresser and running it along the edge to smooth out any the creases a little. Then she carefully folds it up into a neat, little square before tucking it into her bra, right over her heart.
Reasons Zoe and I Should Just Make a Baby Already, Dammit.

Date: 2012-07-09 02:56 pm (UTC)(1) No longer than five minutes. If they're driving in the morning, then they check out early, and if they're staying in, well, Sam's a growing kid and needs his sleep.
(2) If the story is about two brothers (which it usually is), then the older brother always gets the treasure/girl/glory. Younger brother plays sidekick, no exceptions. Dean figures if he makes up enough stories like this, Sam will eventually learn that it's Dean's right to choose which bunk he has, or to finish the last of the cereal.
(3) No monsters. Scary forests, yeah, maybe, and perhaps a broken-down car, but nothing more evil than a wicked king or a rival soccer team. By and large, Dean's stories are mundane, but for them that's as far from reality as it gets. Whatever. Sam's not complaining, anyway.

Date: 2012-07-09 08:38 am (UTC)1/4? Avengers movieverse/Norse mythology - Clint, R?
Date: 2012-07-09 04:55 pm (UTC)(Avengers movieverse/Norse mythology. There's descriptions of gore and violence. Like, seriously. If you know anything about Loki's children in the myths, you'll understand.)
...
In Clint's dreams, those long, never-ending days after blue washed him out and swept him away, he's wandering in ice. A wasteland of ice and snow and far-off mountains he can never reach.
There's never anyone else around, but he hears howling, and he can't track down the source.
Every dream, he’s wandering. Looking for something. And whenever it snows, the flakes hitting the ground sound like tears.
.
Eventually, in the dreams, one night after an op goes bad and he had to kill everyone present instead of just the target, he finds a little girl, sitting pretty on the ice. She’s naked, her legs shriveled like a mummy’s, and her upper half tanned like a kid who lives in the sun. Her hair is divided clear down the middle: left side black as night, right side white as the moon.
Her eyes are blue, blue as the blue that washed him out and swept him away.
“Hello, Archer,” she says, voice as cold and hollow as the wasteland around them.
He doesn’t reply because he has no voice. He never does in the dreams.
But she smiles, this little half-dead girl, and she says, “If you reach the end, you’ll find your prize.”
He wakes up to Nat calling his name, because a mission for the Avengers came in, and they have to go.
.
For a week, he’s alone in the ice, shivering himself awake.
The seventh night, he finds a hole in the ice and a giant snake sticking his head out, regarding him with black eyes. “Archer,” the snake says, voice deeper than the ocean.
Clint backs up, but the snake follows, twining his giant head and neck around him, like Jafar did Aladdin, and he really should stop letting Nat pick the movies they watch.
“Archer,” the snake repeats. “Find the end and claim that which is yours, so that we all may be released.”
The snake lets go, going back down into the ice without even a single splash, and Clint drops to his knees, arms wrapping around himself because the temperature’s plunging down and he wakes up shuddering.
And he should march straight to the shrinks. Because he’s done the research, thank you, and the blue, the blue - Loki must’ve left something in him. Something hidden.
But all he does is roll over, burrowing deeper into his blankets, and lie awake for the rest of the night.

Sterling sighed and looked around the table. The worlds five greatest thieves all reduced to children, who were currently eating a lunch. No fancy restaurants, no five course meals from Eliot. Each child happily eating a Mcdonalds happy meal and playing with the toy surprise.
"Can we go play now?" Parker asked as she pointed to the jungle gym in the enclosed play area.
"Nate, you go with Parker, Eliot, and Alec. I'll stay with Sophie and while she finishs up."
The Eight year old nodded before standing." come on guys," he said allowing the three six year olds out of the booth.
" I want to go too." Sophie said pouting.already showing signs of being a grifter at seven.
"not until you finish your nuggets.". He pointed to the last chicken tender. Sighing Sophie
popped the chicken into her mouth, chewing quickly and racing to join her friends.
Sitting alone in the booth guarding the toys and watching the kids play he hoped his colleagues wouldn't see him. He'd chased all five if these tiny thieves over the years but its not like he could arrest them, they were all minors for heavens .
He may not be able to send them to jail.... But school started tomorrow and that was 40 hours a week of confinement he was more than ready to sentence them to.

...
"Okay, everyone," Stiles says, looking each of them in the eye, "there can be none, ABSOLUTELY NO, werewolf shenanigans for the upcoming week. Okay? Okay." He nods firmly. "NONE."
“Oh, no,” Scott breathes. “No, tell me he’s not – ”
Stiles nods, a nervous smile on his face. “He is.”
Scott facepalms.
“What?” Derek finally demands, cutting off whatever Isaac or Erica were about to say.
“My Uncle Eliot is gonna be spending the week with us,” Stiles says. “He’s ‘recuperating.’” Stiles actually uses the finger quotes and Derek rolls his eyes. “Hey, no, don’t roll your eyes at me, bucko!” Stiles says. “He’s – I don’t know what he does, he never talks about work, but he’s got scars like you would have if you didn’t heal, and I’ve made lists about it! He’s either an assassin or mob enforcer, or, like, the specialist special forces guy ever, and he will notice if anything happens.”
“Look,” Isaac says, “he’ll only be here a week, right? Not a problem.”
Stiles shakes his head, sighing.
…
(Uncle Eliot makes them in half a day.)
(Also, Chris Argent doesn’t look at Scott for months after Uncle Eliot leaves.)
(Also also, Eliot asks his older brother, “You’re really acting like you don’t know?”
His brother says, “I’ll wait for my son to tell me.”
Eliot just scoffs at him.)

Date: 2012-07-09 09:03 am (UTC)Fill (True Blood, Pam + Arlene's kids)
Date: 2012-07-10 03:33 am (UTC)The minute Sookie Stackhouse walked into Fangtasia that night, Pam knew there was going to be trouble. However, this a complete new level of trouble. This was a catastrophy.
Bon Temps was in danger. Again. They had saved the town so many fuckin' times, Pam thought they should just let it be for once and for all. But no, of course, Sookie and her precious fairy vagina comes in and Eric goes running after her like an alcoholic to a free bar.
And who was left behind? Pam. Again. Yet this time was different. This time, she was left behind with something worse. The only other people besides that blonde waitress who were able to make it out of Bon Temps.
Three children.
"Don't touch that, that's mine" snapped Pam, taking her necklace from Lisa's hands. "Or that" she took a stake from Coby. "Actually, don't touch anything. Don't move. Don't even breath, if you want."
The two brothers stayed still as the vampire glared down at them. They were in Eric's office, where she was supposed to look after them. God, she was glad vampires couldn't have children. This was a nightmare.
She heard a giggle. She turned to find the baby smiling at her from the floor, where he sat on a blanket in company of his old, horrible doll.
"What are you looking at?" said Pam.
"When is Aunt Sookie coming back?" asked Coby.
"When you learn to stop asking it, that's when" she replied harshly. She looked at Mikey's doll. "What's with that creepy thing?"
"Jessica gave it to him. She likes it" commented Lisa.
"Of course he likes it, he's a baby. He doesn't understand that it looks like it was taken from a horror movie" she sighed. "Either way, we have several hours before you can leave, so in the meantime, you'll sit there and be quiet."
Pam turned around and walked back to Eric's desk. She sat on the chair and a noise followed. A farting noise.
Coby and Lisa somehow managed not to laugh, but Mikey released a baby chuckle that made Pam glare daggers at him in such a way that he immediately silenced, as if she had glamoured him.
The door was suddenly opened and a read-haired, skinny woman walked in.
"Pam, your dinner's ready in the other room" announced Ginger. "I'll take care of the kids until you're done."
"You kids are lucky my maker specifically ordered me not to kill you" she commented "or else you would be waiting to be eaten in that room."
And with one last glare, Pam left the office. Ginger walked towards the kids with a small smile.
"Now, what do you want to do until you can go home?"
The two Fowler brothers shared a look before they settled their minds, as if communicating telepathically.
"Can that lady vampire come back?" asked Lisa.
"She was kinda cool" her brother added.
