Hello, everyone. I’m
caz251 and today's theme is rare characters/pairings. Prompts today are all about rarity, rare characters and rare pairings.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
Any, Any, hidden in the background
Harry Potter, Myrtle, Horrid people
Harry Potter/Avengers, Luna Lovegood/Bruce Banner, calming influence
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2015-06-03 02:19 pm (UTC)MCU Fill: Shining in the Corners [1/2]
Date: 2015-06-03 03:12 pm (UTC)He looked at her past Captain America—Steve Rogers, almost memory and the Smithsonian exhibit corrected. He raised his metal hand to indicate her. "Who are you?"
The little one, Scarlet Witch, turned her head in surprise to look. The one he had trained and had tried to hunt him down once upon a time, Black Widow, smiled faintly to herself but kept her own eyes and weapons on the Soldier.
The woman in the background raised an eyebrow. "Maria Hill. I didn't shoot you, if that's what you're wondering."
He took a step back at that, confused. "We've met?"
She looked at him, her own surprise open on her face. "No."
Steve took him in. He found this relentless trust bewildering, and yet somehow, he depended on it. He'd expected it. He slept on the floor in front of the couch, and eventually Steve stopped sighing that he refused both couch and bed.
Falcon treated him warily but with a willingness to talk he should not have had since he had ripped off Falcon's wings and knocked him out of the sky.
"Water under the bridge, man. Water under the bridge," Falcon said with a smile and fed him breakfast. "If you, you know, eat that sort of thing."
The asset hadn't, but he did. He ate normal food and buried his hands in hoodie pockets and let Black Widow smile at him and Scarlet Witch watch him curiously and Falcon talk to him in the hopes maybe that he'd one day be listening and Steve take care of him. Vision greeted him politely when they encountered each other. Dr. Cho maintained his arm.
But in the background, there was that woman.
"Maria Hill," he stopped and greeted when she would have passed him in the hall.
She paused, fingers stilling on her report but not clenching. Surprised perhaps but without fear. "Bucky Barnes," she said coolly, then assessed his reaction with an equally cool gaze.
Who the h— is Bucky?
He looked at her. To look past her would show his discomfort. To look through her would reveal weakness.
"Is there something you needed?"
"A drink?" The words bubbled up from something he couldn't quite remember, from before the freezes. He paused, taken aback.
She softened a fraction. "Don't we all," she said dryly. "Charge it to the company tab if you like. Harry's is on the corner." Then she went on past as she had originally intended.
He stayed still and watched her go.
"You've got it bad," Natalia slurred in Russian slang over her ridiculous cocktail later. She had made him take vodka over American beer, and her apparently favorite brand could make an ordinary man's eyes water.
He wasn't drunk though. "Can I get drunk?"
She stared up at him from under her lashes. He was reminded of her youth when they'd loaned him out to the Red Room to train the newest Black Widow. She was the best, impossibly good. She would be another ghost. He had almost loved her once.
She shrugged. "I don't know." Then she was smiles and ease and all the layers of pretension he knew he should never believe in. She had another Avenger who came by for missions, Hawkeye, who could see through her masks and sort out truth from lies, but it was a singular skill, and in the Soldier's mind, an unnecessary one.
He downed another gulp of vodka, then shook his head and waved a gloved hand to the bartender. "Beer."
Natalia muttered something derogatory.

Date: 2015-06-03 11:49 pm (UTC)"She thought she did." Lance took another swig of beer.
"Yeah?"
Lance sighed. "We had a disagreement. The kind with really vicious accusations and old baggage being thrown around. That kind of shit."
"About?"
"... I was delivering a package for someone. She thought I shouldn't. Apparently she felt like the meet site was a trap. And I felt like I never got to say jack-all about all the dangerous things she did for SHIELD, so she should stay of mine, you know?"
Mack chuckled lightly. "So... the package was in the convertible? No more car, no more package."
"Yeah. But to take the convertible as collateral damage -- that was just... spite. I really think that."
"So was she right?"
"About what?"
"About it being a trap?"
"... Well, I don't think that's relevant at all."
Mack laughed. He handed Lance another beer, and Lance sighed and took it.

Date: 2016-07-18 01:50 am (UTC)“Flash.”
Was it too late to pretend to be unconscious again?
The hand remained, gentle and familiarly callused, and Wally was never able to deny Batman. Not in any capacity. “Hey, Bats.” Wally’s voice came out rough.
“Do you remember what happened?” The voice belonged thoroughly to Batman, though the thumb on his cheek spoke of nothing but Bruce, and Wally didn’t bother opening his eyes, lest his confusion increase.
“I was running.” Wally replied.
“You’re always running. Be more specific.”
“Got kind of dizzy.” Wally attempted a shrug and winced when the motion pulled more sore muscles than he realized he had.
“You passed out,” The hand disappeared at last and Wally missed it terribly.
Wally finally managed to open his eyes and found Batman looming over his bed. Gloves off, but cowl still on; definitely Batman. “You don’t say.” Wally rasped.
The narrowing of eyes behind white lenses was not quite visible, but Wally knew it always accompanied that particular displeased frown on Bruce’s- Batman’s face. Fuck, he was too tired for this. “You haven’t been eating enough.”
“I’m eating as much as I can.” Wally hedged.
“But not enough.”
“I have to pay for more than just food. I’m doing the best I can, alright?” Wally huffed.
“Well next time, ask for help. You collapsed in the middle of the station and sent everyone into an unnecessary panic,” The Reproving Batman Voice was doing absolutely nothing for Wally’s mental or physical state, “You’re receiving nutrition through the IV right now. It’s efficient, but a temporary fix. I’ve been looking into nutritional supplements with concentrated levels of protein and glucose that might keep you going longer.”
Something warm spread through Wally’s system that was almost enough to counteract the cold discomfort of intravenous fluids. “You don’t have to do that for me…”
“Obviously, I do. If you had run out of energy in the middle of a fight instead of just running around the Watchtower, the consequences could have been dire.”
The warm feeling retreated immediately. “Of course. Thanks, Batman, I appreciate the concern, but I’m actually starting to feel better now, so if you just wanna unhook me, I’ll go find some real food and…”
“Wally,” That voice undoubtedly belonged to Bruce, and Wally stopped talking almost immediately, “I was concerned about you. You’re not eating enough.”
It amazed Wally that after all this time, he was still able to forget that Bruce’s version of care was different from everyone else’s. He sighed.
“Sorry,” He muttered, “Things have been… tight lately. Thought I could power through it.”
“If you need help, you should just ask.” Bruce replied, softer than Wally really thought he would allow himself when still in uniform.
But it was an old argument and Wally wouldn’t be dissuaded. “I’m not taking your money, Bruce.”
The room was silent for a moment, and Wally wondered how Bruce had managed to clear everyone out so efficiently before remembering he was goddamn Batman. “You know,” Bruce said at last, “Alfred is always complaining I don’t eat enough. Says he barely gets to cook anymore.”
Wally cocked an eyebrow at Bruce. “You don’t like metas in Gotham.”
“I’m not inviting you there to fight crime, I’m inviting you for dinner.” Bruce replied evenly.
Wally let the offer sink in for a moment, then grinned. “Well. If it’s for Al’s sake…”
“For your sake, I don’t recommend calling him that where he can hear you.”
Wally’s grin only brightened. “Eh. I’m sure I can find someone else willing to talk to me while I hang around your palace.”
Bruce answered with a miniscule grin of his own. “We’ll see.”
Wally settled back against the infirmary bed and let the IV drip finish. Bruce’s version of care could be… disconcerting in its intensity, but Wally decided he wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Date: 2015-06-03 11:43 pm (UTC)"I was here all along," Martin replied curtly, "Though perhaps you didn't hear the explanation as you kept rambling 'Burn me, baby, burn me.'" He handed the bread to Ronnie, who put it in the toaster.
"What?"
Ronnie leaned forward. "Dude. Firestorm is the two of us."
"My brain isn't built for this," Mick said, furrowing his brow.
"Dare I admit I'm unsurprised," Martin said, voice dripping in sarcasm.
"Come on, man, look on the bright side - you totally just scored a threesome," Ronnie said, handing the oranges to Martin, who quickly cut them into slices. "So set the table, okay?"
"Yeah, I guess when you put it that way..." Mick said, then turned around to grab the plates, still utterly confused.

Date: 2015-06-03 07:54 pm (UTC)“The passage of time is cruel,” Ezio remarks. He turns from the rubble to examine the setup around the Animus. “And strange. What are these objects?”
“Those? They’re computers,” Desmond says. “They’re...” God, he wouldn’t even know how to explain them to someone from his own time. “They’re kind of like libraries, I guess.”
Ezio looks hard at Shaun’s monitor, and then looks harder at Desmond.
“The stuff on here can change,” Desmond says, waving at the screen. “Uh, you remember when you saw Minerva?”
Ezio’s expression clears at once. “Of course. She mentioned you. So you can create the same effects?”
“Not exactly,” Desmond says. “I don’t think our technology’s there yet. But something like that.”
He leads their conversation a few steps sideways, trying to make it look casual, so they’re closer to the statue of Altaïr. Somehow, he feels like Altaïr has a right to be here for this.
“How long did you say it’s been? Five hundred years?” Ezio folds his arms, and when he speaks again it’s almost to himself. “What did history make of Cesare, I wonder.”
“Well, Shaun’d know better than me, but I’m pretty sure we don’t think he was a nice guy,” Desmond says. “You don’t want to know what history made of you?”
Ezio smiles. “If history made anything at all of me, I must have been a poor assassin. And that, I think, is knowledge I could do without.”
“So what if I’d said Cesare was a hero?” Desmond asks, hands in his pockets. “You wouldn’t go after him?”
He already knows the answer, of course. He’s been in Ezio’s head.
Ezio is silent for a moment.
“Cesare murdered my uncle,” he says. “But I feel it is right for me to understand the weight of the lives I take.”
“Desmond?”
Desmond looks over at the entrance. It’s Rebecca.
“Thought I heard talking,” she says, looking around with a slight frown. “You okay?”
He expects Ezio to be gone when he looks back. Ezio is still there, brushing his fingers over the worn feather chest.
“I’m fine,” Desmond says.
